Jin moved forward, between the wine racks, getting into range to deliver a killing blow on the bloodied archer. He slashed viciously with both swords, but lost his footing on the cold floor, the attacks going wide. But the ronin caught himself in the fall, recovered, and struck out again. He missed a third time, but the fourth attack hit it's mark, slashing open the archer's throat.

The archer clutched at his neck with his free hand, blood pouring between the fingers. He looked to drop dead, but did not. Instead, the archer steeled himself and stood his ground.

"What!? Are you kidding me!?" Jin blurted, half laughing, half outraged, "Why won't you just die!?"

Seeing an opening, Mervin's orb flashes and suddenly he is quickly and carefully transported around some of the wine racks and back away from the action. He continues to regard the combatants carefully, while simultaneously looking around frantically.

Mervin casts about for a convenient exit, and sees a staircase to the east.

The Ambushers, though bloodied and backed into a corner, continue to pound away at Talon and Dayna as the archers decide how best to handle their predicament.

“Alright. Time to bug out of here,” The archer between Fenwick and Firebyrne has had enough of being surrounded. He clubs Firebyrne in the collar bone and darts behind the wine racks. Firebyrne, slightly stunned by the attack isn’t fast enough to catch him, and Fenwick whiffs once more with his axe, but to everyone’s amazement (even his own), Jin skewers the fleeing felon in the back, driving his sword deep between the archer’s ribs, “Aaaagh!” It’s a deep, impalement, but the archer somehow manages to pry himself free, trailing blood as he goes and taking up position behind Mervin, who suddenly realizes that he is caught between a bleeding archer and an angry, frustrated orc.

Equally frustrated is the knife fighter who can’t seem to break free of his icy fetters. Struggling to unfix himself, he takes a token stab at Rujah, but the effort is futile. He’s stuck.

The other archer attempts to follow his counterpart’s lead. Unfortunately, he’s not as fortunate, (at least what happens next makes his partner’s situation seem so). The poor archer not only misses his attempt to strike Rujah, but manages to be struck dead by Firebyrne as he flees.

Having cleared the immediate area, Rujah and Firebyrne concentrate on the knife fighter, landing blow upon blow, but he seems, so far, undaunted by the attacks, “You’ll have to do better than that,” he spits back at them as he ducks and weaves.
