[Adventure] Lost Love (DM: Velmont - Judge: Renau1g)

Unit 16 manages to get himself out of the rubble, but looks horrified at its result. "I- I..." He only manages to stutter a little while trying to apologize for triggering the cave-in and injuring his companions.

Ryda's words snap him back to attention and he immediately goes to help his companions covered in rocks.

[sblock=ooc]Well, I'm sorry guys - I figured there was a trap but I didn't know touching a rock would hit us all! Really sorry about that, everyone. :( Not even sure how I could have avoided it in hindsight...

Actions: move to Pis and use a standard to assist him[/sblock]
[sblock=question to the group]Should we take 5 minutes to rest and heal (basically burning healing surges) or should we press on?[/sblock]
[sblock=perception]Sorry, Velmont, my passive is 19 while near Talkrai - not that it matters at the moment.[/sblock]

[sblock=OOC]I don't mind if we take a minute for you 3 to catch your breath, but if so, why not have the leader types use their healie powers to maximize healing before the rest, no sense in not being efficient.[/sblock]

Jarren hurries over with the others to help the trap victims, relieved to see that nobody has been too gravely injured. "That wasn't in the poem," he says with a wry grimace as he strains to move the large rock from atop Pis's bruised and battered body.

His companion spirit manifests, coiled around him with its bright wings fluttering gently. Its very presence is soothing, helping to dull the pain of his companions' wounds.

[sblock=Actions]Move - F12

Minor - Call Spirit Companion in F13[/sblock]

[sblock=OOC]Jarren heals a surge + 8 additional hp on the primary target when he uses Healing Spirit, and 1d6+3 to a secondary target. If he uses a Healing Spirit on both Talkrai and Pis that should get them both close to full hp, and the secondary healing from both should top off Unit 16 (without him needing to spend a surge). Then hopefully we can take a short rest to get my uses of Healing Spirit back.

I guess that's going to be the most efficient way to get everybody healed.[/sblock]

[sblock=OOC]I’m all for resting, especially if it ends up being mostly surgeless. Man, that hurt.[/sblock]
With the help of his companions, Pis is extricated from the rubble. As they help him to his feet he lean heavily against the wall. His legs, which received the worst of the damage, do not look good. “I think I may need a moment to recover…”

As Jarren’s healing energies pass through him, Pis’ wounds close. “Thank you Jarren. I much needed that.” He stands straighter and after a few minutes the pain has subsided enough that he’s ready to move on again. “Do we think that was the guard that we should have stood back from?” as he asks, Pis looks up to see if there is stone missing from the ceiling that would have come from the cave in.

Talkrai climbs slowly out of the rubble. That wasn't what she'd been expecting at all. She'd never before seen a cave-in where you couldn't touch any of the rubble without causing more collapse. Then again, she hadn't seen very many cave-ins. Duly noted, she thought to herself grimly as she brushed some dust off herself and checked that everyone else was ok.

Seeing that Jarren was taking care of the wounded (including herself) she smiled at him brightly. "Thanks a bunch. That really hurt. Everyone else ok?"

[sblock=ooc]All for a short rest here.[/sblock]

[SBLOCK=OOC]I'll assume you go as Antithetist suggest:

Pis would heal 17 HP and spend 1 HS.
Talkrai would heal 18 HP and spend 1 HS.
Unit 16 would heal Healing Spirit on Unit 16 (2d6+6=10)[/SBLOCK]

Jarren companions heals and see there severe wounds fading away, leaving only small bruise on there bodies.

After helping his companions, Unit 16 looks gratefully at Jarren. Still embarrassed, he stands a bit away from the group and stands guard as they rest a moment.

[sblock=ooc]Velmont: is it ok that we rest 5 minutes? Just wanted to double-check.

Unit 16 will move to J13 and watch the hallway while we rest.[/sblock]

[sblock=ooc]Shall we proceed after 5 minutes with another formation like before, or does anyone wish to not have "mr. trap trigger" lead the column? :)[/sblock]

As the group rests, Ryda begins to fidget with the end of her braid. “So it seems the area is falling apart, I’m thinking we be a bit more careful about moving around, yes?” Seeing Unit 16’s dejected body language, she carefully picks her way over to him. “Cheer up Sue, nothing too serious happened, we still have the way out, and Jarren fixed ya up lickety-split. We also learned about the shoddy masonry of this place, and I’d much rather learn about that now than when we are crossing over a bridge hundreds of feet up and about to fall to our deaths, no?” Slapping the warforged jovially across the back, she turns to Jarren, “Let us know when you’ve recovered from the exertions of healing, and we’ll head out, OK!”

[sblock=OOC]I’m fine with resting as I said, and fine with continuing with Mr. Trap-triggerer in front. I have no issue IC or OOC with what happened, even knowing the result. A pile of rocks is not a typical trap, no one noticed that the rocks seemed so unstable, and Unit 16 did what made the most sense. Path blocked by rocks, so move rocks… Yeah, it stunk, but they are called traps for a reason, it’s supposed to surprise us lol, otherwise they would be called blatantly obvious chances for damage.[/sblock]
