[Adventure] Lost Love (DM: Velmont - Judge: Renau1g)

[SBLOCK=OOC]1) I made all correction. Thanks again for your vigilance, it help me greatly. I also corrected the Hobgoblin HP...

2) Line Of Effect: Pis, as he hasn't sink yet, and because of how works cover in D&D, have simply cover from all range and area attack Talkrai could throw at him. [/SBLOCK]

[sblock=ooc]Velmont: I don't want to attack him, I just want to hit him with the "a dying ally within 5" or "an ally within 5" effect of my powers. I'll take it that it will work then. Also, Talkrai's Hp is still wrong in the status. It's at 34 now. Thanks. :)

Bob: I'm ok with you going first. I think I'll still be able to hit Pis with the effect if I have to move a square to hit the hobgoblin because you drop the warforged. :)[/sblock]

[sblock=LadyLaw]Oh, your attack triggers the effect? Well then yeah, go right ahead! Also, I won't be able to post until later this evening anyway. :) If you want, feel free to push over if you drop the warforged, but if you don't feel like it that's cool too. I'd still like to get to B32 if that's ok.[/sblock]

[sblock=LadyLaw]Don't worry about Pis. Talkrai is contributing more to the fight anyhow. If Talkrait ends up in the drink she's got even less of a chance of getting out than he did. The party losing one of it's strikers isn't nearly as bad as one of it's leaders.[/sblock]

[sblock=Also] He can't go anywhere anyway. While he's unconscious he can't make swim checks :)[/sblock]

[sblock=ooc]Ok, I'll plan to move first, but I'll wait and see what ends up happening with Pis's position, since if his location changes it may change my options.[/sblock]

[sblock=OOC]Hang about guys, no need to go diving in yet! Jarren's still got an Encounter healing power, let alone his Daily one which would also save Pis in a pinch here.

I'll wait for clarification on twilsemail's points regarding Pis being in or out of the Genasi's attack range before I post my actions, but basically you can assume that Jarren is going to heal Pis (if needed) and get him swimming/climbing again.

Regarding the Spirit's OA: sadly no, as a summoned creature I think it generally doesn't get to make OAs. And even if it did, it wouldn't get to use Spirit's Shield (its opportunity power with the healing effect), since that is specifically triggered by an enemy leaving an adjacent square without shifting.[/sblock]

[SBLOCK=OOC]@twilsemail: You are almost right in each case, you should more see it at something like this:

There is around 2 feet between the water level the edge. So if it was still water, you would still need to extend your arm to grip the border, then, you need to pull yourself out. But the stone of the wall and floor is flat (DC:20), very smooth (DC: +5) and slippery because of the water (DC: +5), but you can 'swim' yourself out of the water while pulling yourself (DC: -10).

And for the Genasi, he his standing on the border and handling a greataxe, so there is no problem for him to reach Pis. Hope everything is getting more clear now.

@Ladylaw: You have a line of effect. If you look at the above picture, Pis square, on the vertical view, you can see 2 out of 4 corner, which means you can affect him and have cover for all range attack (thing I have considered since he is in the water.)[/SBLOCK]

Talkrai lets out a burst of mental anguish as Pis falls unconscious in the water. She takes another swing at the warforged, but is apparently too distracted, and the blow merely glances off the monster's armor ineffectively.

[sblock=Telepathy to Jarren]"My energy doesn't seem to be enough to help him now. I tried and it didn't work. See if you can do anything..."

It's clear that her thoughts surround Pis.[/sblock]

[sblock=Mechanics]Standard: Energizing Strike (Augment 1) on Warforged - 1d20+12=15 vs. AC is a fail I'm sure. Bad timing on that. Ah well.[/sblock]
