[Adventure] Murder Most Foul! (Judge: EvolutionKB)

[sblock=ooc]
my bad...for some reason I thought that we all had an attack before the beasts reached us.

Do you want me to erase the post and start anew when it is actually knoepf's turn?
[/sblock]

[sblock=OOC]
Up to you dimsdale. The only real limitation is that if you change your mind on your action(s), you have to stick with any rolls you previously made (i.e. no re-rolling a different attack cause the first roll was low). Other than that, it's all good.

OOC: I've edited knoepf's attack.

After drive heaving one more time Knoepf gets up and centers himself. He takes a breath and touches Hasifar. The flow of healing surges through Hasifar's body. Looking to his left he barks out a command. The monster to the left begins to glow a silverish hue, abviously annoyed by the light as it flails to-and-fro to rid itself of the strange sensation. He then states in a strained voice "Artemus, if you can hit it I can heal some of your wounds. Strike true my friend."

[sblock=actions]
minor: healing word on Hasifer: 2d6+11= 18

movement: get up

attack: astral seal on monster at m11 (the one who has grabbed Artemus: 1d20+11 vs reflex: 29
Until the end of Knoepf's next turn, the target takes -2 penalty to all defenses. The next ally who hit it before the end of your next turn regains hit points equal to 13.

putting a straw in mouth. He quickly spits it out "Damn tha' tasted like ass!"

[sblock=Personal Amusement]
As DM, one amusing aspect of the next few adventuring days is that Hasifar will probably not find another clean piece of straw with which to chew on. He might have to find a Goblin and take its chewing weed or something. Or maybe Hasifar will go cold turkey. ;)

"Hasifar, come here and distract the beast while I stab him in the... sensitive part." shouts Artemus. He stabs the creature inflicting some wounds before releasing himself from the grab.

[SBLOCK=OOC]Move: Acrobatics vs. Refl (1d20+11=28) Cannot take advantage of Free Shift because of the hard terrain. There is day like that you would like to be an elf. The remaining of the time, you don't regret it.

Standard: Riposte Strike (1d20+9=27, 1d4+5=7)
Free: Furious Smash (1d4=3) That will make 10 damages total.
[SBLOCK=Riposte if he attacks me]Riposte (1d20+9=28, 1d4+5=8)[/SBLOCK][/SBLOCK]

[SBLOCK=OOC]Just a note, Artemus will be able to use his sneak attack (2d8+4 more damage, more than my basic attack which is 1d4+5) if someone can come into melee with his opponent. And with the difficult terrain, he has no way to shift and try to attack the same target as Boruuk at the moment.

Those encounter are playing against my ability to sneak.[/SBLOCK]

Tirial now focuses on the enemy carrying Boruuk and takes a step back for a clear shot. She continues pelting arrows at it, but she has to avoid the goliath's large frame and misses any vital areas of the beast.

"Everyone, focus our shots on one foe. We must work together" she calls out.

"Like it was easy to distract a mass of shambin' putrefaction! I'm doin' wha I can mate!" yelps the peasant, as he readies another attack. "I could make something nice if you get them together and you get out of my way..." he offers, although probably only the dwarf at his side could hear him.

Boruuk calls upon the enchantment ingrained in his armor from the dwarves of Mror Hold and he feels their resilience flow into him. The goliath swipes at the smelly foe with his axe, but his watery eyes betray him. The goliath struggles against the foes tentacles.

Hasifar glups. "Alright pall, here I go!" says the farmer, and holding his dagger tight in his hands, he heads to battle the monstrosity, face to face!

"Well tha' was close!" says Hasifar with big eyes. " Hm, is that yar face, or has yar neck thrown up?" taunts the man, and although it seemed like a simple joke, the monster feels the intrusion in his mind. A laughing, maniacal, continuous, laughter that carves its brain. Hasifar grins raising his right eyebrow. "Nasty ah? Wha' bout ya pile of scum, do ya feel lucky today?" with a wink, Hasifar sends another mental assault to the other beast.

However, neither beast seems to even notice Hasifar's attempt.

"Everyone, focus our shots on one foe. We must work together" she calls out.

One of her arrows hits a tentacle, but it doesn't slow the Otyugh down a bit.

"Hasifar, come here and distract the beast while I stab him in the... sensitive part." shouts Artemus. He stabs the creature inflicting some wounds before releasing himself from the grab.

Artemus' successful attack releases Knoepf's healing energies into him.

Boruuk calls upon the enchantment ingrained in his armor from the dwarves of Mror Hold and he feels their resilience flow into him. The goliath swipes at the smelly foe with his axe, but his watery eyes betray him. The goliath struggles against the foes tentacles.

"If he has to split his attention between two person in melee, it's enough to help me." quickly replies Artemus.

Hasifar glups. "Alright pall, here I go!" says the farmer, and holding his dagger tight in his hands, he heads to battle the monstrosity, face to face!

Ignoring Hasifar, Otyugh 1 tries to grab Boruuk away from Otyugh 2, but merely manages to dislocate Boruuk's shoulder. The two beasts fight over Boruuk like two alley dogs fighting over a bone with both of them pulling him in opposite directions.

Having lost its prey, the enraged Otyugh 3 bites Artemus hard. Artemus can feel a burning sensation coursing through the wound, but he has the presence of mind to counterattack.

[sblock= OOC]
Hasifar misses both.
Knoepf heals Hasifar and hits Otyugh 3 with Astral Seal.
Tirial hits Otyugh 2 for 6.
Artemus hits Otyugh 3 for 10, heals 13 from Astral Seal, and escapes from the grab.
Boruuk heals himself, but misses and fails to escape from the grab.
Otyugh 1 hits Boruuk for 13 and grabs and pulls him.
Otyugh 2 misses Boruuk.
Otyugh 3 hits Artemus for 13 and Artemus loses a healing surge.
Artemus hits Otyugh 3 for 8.

Tirial 16/45, bloodied
Artemus 16/39, bloodied, -2 to attacks while in aura 1 stench
Boruuk 25/51, bloodied, grabbed by 2 Otyughs (requires 2 Athletics to escape), -2 to attacks while in aura 1 stench, grants CA to Otyugh 2 TENT
Otyugh 1 10
Otyugh 2 6, marked, quarried
Otyugh 3 18, -2 penalty to all defenses TENT (Knoepf's)
Hasifar 41/41
Knoepf 21/40

The entire floor is difficult terrain due to water, potholes, and slippery slime.

Normal light currently consists of the 5 squares within Knoepf's location. Low light vision is 5 squares beyond that.

I'm using the yellow triangle to indicate visually a creature that has some form of condition or grabbed or marked or some such. You'll need to check the text here to find out the specifics. I'm using the little red dot to visually indicate bloodied. And I'm using the shading to represent the auras.

It's Hasifar's turn.
