Adventure: Redblade's Riches!! (Ozymandias79 judging!)

[sblock=Defenders]I couldn't help but notice Kauldron, goblin paladin, enter the inn. There's a monstrous defender! :)[/sblock]

[sblock=OOC]I can handle it either way. I can go with whatever the majority of you 5 decide. Apparently the Githyanki I suggested wasn't monstrous enough to garner as much attention as a goblin. :p

So far I've got the following:

Stonegod: Fine without a defender
Covaithe: Was okay with running without a defender for now but doesn't object to having one either.
Garyh: Pointed Kauldron out, so I'd count that as a vote for him.
Erekose13: Saw a goblin as a different kettle of fish entirely. Sounds mostly like a vote in favor to me.

Haven't heard from Digger on the subject, but he's been busy lately. So adding up all of the above, it sounds like between the four of you the group is leaning towards recruiting a defender. Is Kauldron the top choice then due to his goblinhood or is Rekk an option also? I have no favorite one way or the other, just asking. Let's resolve this issue quickly before moving on. What say you all?[/sblock]

OOC: I'd prefer a defender. Also would give me one more flanking partner. :) I'd prefer the gob over the gith, but would be okay with the gith.

[sblock=ooc]I'd prefer the goblin, too, if only because the gith uses olive text. Pretender! ;)

If it's easy to do, what the heck. Get more players involved.

[sblock=OOC]Well, with Covaith's vote for, Garyh's vote for, and Erekose's kettle of fish sounding pretty much like a vote for, that carries the majority in favor of propositioning the goblin paladin to join. (Although I think he'd prefer a proposition from the hottie he's flirting with in the Hanged Man. Be such a shame to yank him away suddenly right when she was about to go upstairs with him or something.)

So I sent Darksteed a PM to see what he says. We can always ask the Gith next if Darksteed isn't interested.[/sblock]

Out at the Bloody Wake, a sudden wind stirs the furled sails. Dark clouds race through the sky and bolts of lightning crackle down from the sky. With a sudden rush of air, there is an explosion on deck at the prow of the ship. A lightning bolt strikes there on the deck sizzling into the wood. The energy lights up the runes carved into the deck by Girth as they start to spin around, glowing brightly up into the storm-darkened sky. Sparkles of starlight pour forth in a cloud that spins and condenses into the form of a small platemail clad goblin smoking a cigar. As the light dies down, the goblin stumbles slightly, getting his footing on the slowly rocking ship.

A few crew members look on dumbfounded, while a bearded man dressed in red and sporting an eyepatch squints at the new arrival while holding a sword pointed in front of him for defense it seems. The bearded man speaks, "I'm Captain Azrael and you're on me ship, the Bloody Wake. I be guessin' that you must have business wit' me crewmates since ye came through Girth's sigils there. They be up that path there in Redblade's fortress. In fact, they just left not but a few minutes past. Ye can prob'ly catch 'em if ye scamper up the dock quick enough." the man points with his sword past the dock and up at the open gates set in the wall above the ship.

[sblock=OOC]Everybody, a big welcome to Darksteed and his goblin Paladin Kauldron! A big hand for the newest member of the Mostly Monstrous Crew!

Darksteed, let me know if you have any questions on anything.[/sblock]

*After getting teleported in* Whoo! What a rush!

*Then stumbles backwards not being used to the sway of a boat upon the water.* Whoo whoo whoo!!! *With a clang of metal Kauldron tumbles down upon his rear.*

Oof! What the hell. A boat! Seriously! Ugh. Bloody mage teleporting the most heavily armored man in the tavern onto a boat surrounded by water. Someone give that boy a medal for having this bright idea. *He sighed and staggered up to his feet. Readjusting his pack, and dusting himself off. He takes a long pull of his cigar to relax, then let`s out a large bellow of smoke which streams out of a slit in his masked helm. Looking over to the Captain and listening to the words he spoke.*

Honestly I have no idea why I'm here. Something about some fate or what not. *He smirked under his helm. Looking over to where the Captain pointed to, and looking up the beach head.*

Well at least I know I'll be getting some exercise this morning. Nothing like jogging in a hundred and sixty pounds of gear. *Chuckles. Gives the Captain a two fingered salute from the tip of his helm.*

Thanks for the information Captain. I'll see what I can do for you. *He then takes off in a run towards the pointed area.*

As Kauldron moves up the dock, he sees a group of fellow goblinoids, along with a half-elf, oddly enough. A bugbear - brawny even for his kind - wearing leather armor and carrying a huge, vicious looking rapier, notices the plate-clad arrival.

"Ho there!" the bugbear calls as he raises his blade. "Who are you? Be ye friend or be ye foe?"
