"Well, it seems that just tracking blindly isn't going to cut it this time. Why don't you tell me more on what were you doing in this place and what might those bandits be after? Maybe we can get an idea of where are they heading and hopefully find some tracks along the way. "

Jaan looks up at Ioleta with a smile. "Thank you."

He reaches out and hesitantly touches her lightly on the shoulder. "We will do what we can," he says softly, slightly hesitantly. "You should keep that safe somewhere." He nods at the last wreath in her hands.

Jaan turns to include the others. "I have four days rations on me. Thats enough to give us at least and extra day out here. If we can't find his trail, perhaps we can help him find us. A large bonfire might do the trick. Of course, who knows who else it will attract, so there is some risk involved."

Remember, you can always make another check. As for aiding another, if anyone wants to Aid Another, trained or untrained, I'll allow up to 1 other helper, no taking 10. No real disadvantage, roughly 50% of getting a +2. :)

"Well, let's try this again. Someone help me with this..." Garret motions toward what he beleives might be the right track once again, hoping that another pair of eyes might make this easier.

OOC: Trying again. Someone (anyone) help me with that roll. Someone with a high WIS hopefully....

Garret's been working all day, and fatigue is starting to set in, but an hour of searching later he picks up Troi's path again. Partially revitalized, he sets off, with the group in tow.

Forty minutes later, he picks up something in the leaves that's more than simple walking. It's been cleaned up, but he can see there's been a fight here- he spots where an arrow hit a tree trunk, and recently. Troi's trail heads perpendicular to his previous heading, towards a thick wall of foliage some sixty feet to the south.

You can track farther- another check isn't required for a bit- but I'm letting you react. In about half an hour's more work everyone needs to make forced march Consitution checks and Garret makes a second one at DC 12.

Making a stop, Garret signals for everyone to come closer and signals at the arrow in the trunk "Well, it seems we are finally finding something, yet I'm not sure wherever to be happy about it or not."

"The tracks have been erased here, yet we can still follow them. From what I see, your friend must've went towards that direction" he says while facing south. "towards there"

"Do you have any signal, sound or whatever to recognize each other? I'd hate to walk into a trap he has set for those bandits if he managed to escape them. There WAS a fight here anyway" he mentions pointing at the place where he found the arrow mark.

Noticing for the first time his ragged breathing and his aching legs, he adds "we better find that friend of yours soon, as I'm getting quite tired already. No sense to run into unfriendly bandits with no legs to run, if you know what I mean."

No arrow, arrow mark. As in, a hole in the tree likely caused by an arrow or a bolt. The location has, as said above, been cleaned up some by all appearances.

Its been a long slow day. The though of something to help pass the time more quickly is eager greeted.

"I'll do what I can. What do you want me to do."

He slings his crossbow onto his back in readiness.

ooc: Aid Garret with his Tracking.

*re forced march* Jaan is keen to push on but its obvious that the halfling is struggling. Its been a much more demanding day for him that the others. On the other hand, the longer they wait, the harder it will be to follow the tracks.

"I think that we should push on while we still have the energy and some light. We'll take it slowly and carefully. But if we do run into trouble, Garret pulls back while the others cover him."

ooc: basically, if most of us make our Con checks, then we continue. If a couple don't, then we stop and make camp.
