The girl drops wide, blue-eyed gaze and sweeps a graceful curtsey at Velbrik's introduction. She is human and has an air of impishness about her. In brighter times her smile is sunny and free, but for the moment, she looks somewhat grave and subdued. She listens quietly to the others discuss Troi's fate and winces at the suggestion that Troi might have been captured. She lowers her eyes sadly when the group again chooses to remain camped for the night.

"If you haven't eaten, Mister 'Leaf, we have some stew left over. I can warm it on the fire for you." She nods and moves off to ready the stew or start her patrols, depending. "And don't worry about standing watch tonight. We've got it covered. Sleep well. Jaan, I'll wake you when it's time."

"Thats sounds great miss, thank you very much. Don't overextend yourselves with the watches, as I'm rested enough to eschew a couple of hours of sleep"

OOC: ready for the next day?

OOC: Oh the sacred words... "What do you do?" Happy.

Ioleta grumbles in her sleep and wakes with a start. She rubs her eyes, groggy and slowly sits up taking in her surroundings. She peers uncomprehending for some time at Garret who is handing her a plate and something that resembles, "Mmrmm... Breakfast. Thanks." She fumbles coin out of her purse and hands a few to Garret, "Thanks." She pauses, "I said that already."

She's not the swiftest this fine morning.

The young woman slowly rouses and puts on her travelling gear, looking with loathing at her over-stuffed pack. I really need to get a donkey like Tylkin's. Or get rid of some of my stuff...

"Hah!" She chortles out loud and grimaces, grinning weakly at the others. She is soon ready to go, if not so bright-eyed and bushy-tailed as she was on previous mornings. She pats the donkey on the nose and checks Tylkin's wagon once again. All there. Wish I could have taken my payment in some of this. She peers under the tarp wrapped over the heavily-laden wagon.

If the others dally she wanders further and further toward the forest path... willing the group to hurry up.

Velbrik awakens and eats his breakfast gloomily. When he finishes, he says, "I take it that means Troi didn't just get lost. I had been holding out the hope, I guess."

As Ioleta glares at her pack, he inquires, "What exactly is in there that you need? For today especially; we'll just be scouting out the forest for hopefully less than half the day."

Velbrik finishes strapping on his armor, weapons, and assorted pouches, then turns to Garret and Jaan, who have (presumably) roused themselves by now and finished their morning preparations [though it can wait if there's anything else you want to do]. "Let's get moving, then. This way." He gestures towards the trail, and heads off after Ioleta.

With the morning dew goes Jaan's hope that Troi had just been held up for a bit. It doesn't take him long to get his things together and join the others. He's keen to leave as soon as possible, and but the sight of Ioleta's sack stops him dead.

"Ioleta. We, you, will be able to move much faster without that sack. Do you really need whats in it? If not then I think that you should leave it here. I'm sure that the inn will keep it safe for you for a small fee. Better here than somewhere along the road."

Jaan keeps pace with Ioleta the whole way (assuming that she isn't dragging that sack). The fast walk soon warms and loosens up the muscles and eats up the miles quickly.

Garret Tealeaf

OOC: I was unable to get into EnWorld for the whole morning, anyway, here we go

Looking somewhat confused at the coins being handed to him by Ioleta, he shrugs and hands them back to her.

"Not a morning person, aren't we?" he replies while his thoughts wander at the time he chose to wake them up. Maybe I woke them up too early

"Try and leave behind anything that might slow you down, as we will need as much speed as we can get" The statement kind of strange from the halfling, as he was the one who'd slow them down, his small legs hardly allowing him to keep their speed.

Once they find the spot where the ranger was last seen, Garret takes his time to try and find out his tracks.

Ah, yes. Forgot the sack. If anyone's moving at less that 30' a round, you're back to laden cart speed, and it takes you 5 1/2 hours to reach the spot you "lost" Troi at. You can to sequester it at the inn for a few coppers, or it's also possible you could split up the load some. Let me know what you do.

Garret sweeps the section of road where Troi headed off into the forest. He, more by luck than anything, picks up the trail heading west. It's a good thing that the group started off bright and early- even a few merchants passing by and messing up the tracks might have spelt the difference between failure and success.
