[Adventure]: Shards of Eldanarth (DM: MadAzolin, Judge: ??)

Obviously understanding what Lilli is asking from it, bird flies high up and circles somewhere above, its call echoing the night sky. [MENTION=100292]Neil1889[/MENTION]: [sblock="ritual effects"]
Looking at the bird, Lilli can feel connection with the creature, obviously far exceeding one she expected from the ritual - it seems this place is somehow augmenting effects of her ritual magic.
As bird flies up, she can sense its presence and it takes only mild concentration for her to shift her perspective into that of a bird. Observing from above, Lilli sees wilderness from bird's eyes - other birds and large insects Lilli fails to perceive dominate, glowing softly as if they carry beacons of light. Concentrating to focus herself from potential bird's dinner, she can see general outline of the wilderness - while it is difficult to see any details due to thickness of foliage below her, swamp can be made out, forming semicircular shape, centered right where Lilli is now, becoming less wide along its edges. Beyond the swamp, she can see light glow of lamps that flank snakelike path of ancient road across open glades. Several huge trees and few ruins dot the glades, but ground is mostly open. Road's path goes opposite of where it exits the swamp and it disappears under thick vegetation of forested ruins - more ruins can be seen through the forest canopy there, as if entire area was once busy streets of some large city, at least before it was swallowed by the forest.
Following the forest along where path might lie, Lilli's bird gaze seems to have trouble picking any details - it seems that deeper parts of the forest are blurred when seen from above, as if covered by something - perhaps smoke or fog (though Lilli suspects some sort of magical barrier against observation).
Bird's eye effect fades and ritual breaks unexpectedly - it didn't last nearly as long as it should...

Good news are that Lilli cannot see any Hunter ambushes, hordes of monsters or other imminent threat near the party.
Bad news are that swamp seems thickest right where party is planning to enter it - as if someone or something conveniently placed it there as barrier. Path around doesn't seem to be especially difficult or dangerous, but vegetation is thick and it will take a while to get around the swamp (and leaving the road might increase chances of getting lost.

[sblock=nature] Not sure if I needed to roll or what total I required, so I made an Nature roll and scored 15. Not brilliant, nor is it horribly shabby. I've made an opinionated post.[/sblock]

Lilli was somewhat taken aback and found herself also enjoying the sensation of flight. The sudden end to the ritual brought about a feeling of sorrow.

"There's a lit road and the remains of a ruined city at the other side of the swamp and after a while the lightly wooded area becomes overgrown with forest. There may be anti-scrying magic in there, but I think something may have then attacked him," says Lilli, sadness evident in her voice.

"I don't like the look of the swamp ahead. The path ahead goes around and looks easier, slower but much more predictable, but I still think I prefer it."

Kane regards Lilli with a smile and a shrug. If she had seen through the eyes of a bird she knew more than Kane did, and Kane was not the type to argue with someone who obviously knew more than him. "Then l-let's move. Every w-word, a s-step closer is our enemy."

"It seems we're in agreement then. We're going around. Kane, Cyr, go to the point, Cyr watch for the traps and ambushes, Kane, guard him. I'll take the back if nobody else wants it."

OOC: [MENTION=6747396]MadAzolin[/MENTION], using shadowwalk entire time, just in case there is some attack from behind

"No, Lerrick, I'll be behind Kane, I have more experience in matters of war and can spot an ambush more easily. You go and keep an eye on our behinds ;) watch behind us."

OOC: LOL, sorry about that expression, I wrote it first and then realized it would come out wrong...but I left it anyhow :) Sometimes, direct translation from one language to another doesn't work

Lerrick clutches her holy symbol and nods nervously towards Cyr. Okay, I'll follow the warlock. She takes a deep breath and lets it out slowly. I'm ready.

Darkness continues creeping over the forest as companions make their path through the forest.
Heavy vegetation, razor sharp thorns and occasional miniature river make path difficult, but path is not as difficult or dangerous as it is tedious.

As time passes, deep, blood-red glow glow appears on the horizon as Hunter's moon rises from the 'west' (same direction where silver moon set).
Small red moon is half the size of ordinary moon everyone is used to, but its glow is quite strong, bathing the forest in reddish tint.
As silver-pale light is replaced by reddish one, world seems to change - shadows pick up menacing shapes and many of plants seem to pick up red florescence.
Bird-song dies down quickly to be replaced by wolf-like howls deep in the forest and screeches of different birds - these ones sounding much less friendly...

Hunters' horns echo in the distance, some of them occasionally sounding closer, sometimes too close for comfort and time passes slowly in tense silence -
it is as if forest is waiting...

[sblock="nature DC 15"]
Path is difficult, but not especially dangerous and you are making slow, but steady progress. What is more troubling however
is fact that everyone is getting tired - it was many hours before last proper rest.
[sblock="nature DC 25"]
Observing surroundings since you started, you are sure path is getting more difficult - path you manage winds and
even circles at times and only good eyes of your party are keeping you in somewhat of a straight path ahead - it is as if
forest itself has decided to make your progress as slow as possible.
Reality however is likely different - you have bad feeling Hunters are playing with you...

[sblock="perception DC 20"]
Watching carefully, you cannot shake off feeling you are being watched - reddish eyes of some strange birds stare at you, swarms of
insect-like things you have no name for seem to follow you and it is obvious that your party is making for too much noise to pass without
being noticed.
[sblock="perception DC 25"]
Hunting horns are getting closer over time and you are fairly certain they are approaching faster as time goes. With this pace, they will
be upon you before Hunter's moon is halfway across the sky. Wolf howls are approaching as well and you are fairly sure you can hear baying
of hound mixed in the howls...
Sounds of horns that are sounding in front as well as behind you doesn't help - it seems that Hunters are slowly but steadily
closing the circle around you.

"I think the path is shifting or something. I wonder if illusory tricks are being played over the real trail," says Lilli.
