Sweetness move in front of the group and starts to inspect the room. The tiles doesn't seemed trap at first sight. The nearest statue's pedestal seems to not be attached to the floor. It might be an heavy task to do, but you think they could be moved. Also, they doesn't look like they would animate.

For the 6 construct, they are either some decoy, or the trigger to awaken them haven't happen yet. They stay still like statues. From where you are, you see the two crossbowmen at the other side of the room have arbalest in there hands. Heavy crossbow that depend more on a system of pulley rather than on the flexibility of the string. They generally use strong metal string to build such engine to make sure they don't need to replace them in the middle of the fight. It can be cut, but not as easily as bow string.

While Sweetness waited for the others to come to some decision about what to do next, the gnoll decided to take care of at least one potential problem. Unrolling her kit of tools, she selected a small hacksaw- then she tromped over to the first crossbow-wielding statue and set to work...

OOC: Thievery check to disable crossbow (hacksaw to string, unscrew pulleys or metal bow from stock, remove trigger, whatever seems most efficient); 1d20+14 with tools, rolling twice (once per statue)- if messing with the statue causes it to activate, will deal with one before attempting to disable second. Roll number 1= 27; roll number 2= 17; dice rolls Roll Lookup ; if the first try works but the second does not, Sweetness will keep trying until she succeeds or until the staue animates- let me know if more rolls are needed.

[SBLOCK=OOC]By the way, the room is filled with a dim light created by the closed portal. Unless you have low-light vision or a source of light, you will have difficulty to see everything. Who has a light source again?[/SBLOCK]

As Sweetness cross the room to works on the crossbowman-like construct, Arkavas starts to looks at the statues. Trying to move it, he finds out the statues looks lighter and easily move it a few feet. Probably, someone stronger than him could move it more easily.

The others move a bit farther in the room, Gruff taking a look at the cobra and Gogmorthak standing next to the small imp like creature, ready to swing at it if it animate.

[SBLOCK=OOC]Anyone can move a statue a number of squares up to his Strength modifier + 1. For Akavras, with his Str of 10, it means 1 square. Doing that take a Move action.[/SBLOCK]

Sweetness starts to work on the crossbow. The weapon as two string. As he disable one string a snap can be heard as the tension is released, but the creature starts to animate himself.

[SBLOCK=OOC]There is no rules on how sabotage work, but you roll well and had a good idea, so the crossbow has now only one string. That will prevent him to do a specific effect...[/SBLOCK]

Monsters first...[/SBLOCK]

The crossbowman in front of Sweetness move aside and try to slam the Gnoll, but Sweetness was on her defenses and avoid the blow.

The two defenders animates and go on Sweetness. The first close on her and try to pierce her but without success, but to the rogue surprise, the second tumble next to her and make a bracket and took her enough unaware to hit her.

The second crossbowman shoot two bolt that both hit Gruff and Arkavas.

Gruff see the cobra slithering next to him and attack him. The snake is quick enough that the dwarf cannot dodge the attack and get bite. The bite is not serious, but the dwarf feels poison running through his vein.

The clay scout, next to Gogmorthak, shift next to Arakvas and him and attack the big orc. The creature bit the orc for an almost harmless damage.

"Well that didn't go good," Sweetness snarled, as all the constructs burst into sudden motion. The gnoll was not much slower, though, dropping her tools and sweeping out her dagger in one quick motion. Yelping and snarling, Sweetness cut at the foes around her.

OOC:
>free: drop tools
>Minor: draw Duellist's Dagger
>Standard: Attack with Downward Spiral (Daily 5; +13 vs. REF, including (free) Expertise; Close burst 1, targeting Arbalest, Stonefist F12, Stonefist H12 in that order; attacks 33 (CRIT), 31 (hit), 19 (hit),; rolls Roll Lookup ; hit does 7 damage (10+6=16 for arbalester from Crit, roll Roll Lookup ) and target is knocked prone, targets also take -2 penalty to attack rolls until end of next turn)
>AP: attack now prone (and thus CA) arbalester with Bait and Switch (Encounter 3, +15 vs. WILL including CA= 23 (hit); roll Roll Lookup ; 11base damage, +8 Sneak attack ; Sweetness can switch places with target (F13), then shift 2 squares (to D13)
>Move: Shift to C13 (adjacent to other arbalester)

"Bloody 'Terror'-cotta!" Arkavas pulls out his blade and brings it down on the clay scout with resonant 'crack'[sblock=Actions]Standard: Magic Weapon
Target: Clay Scout
Attack: 1d20+13=20 Hit
Damage: 1d12+6=14
Resulting Effect: Gogmorthak gains a +1 power bonus to attack rolls and +3 bonus to damage rolls until the end of your next turn.

I guess we didn't reach a milestone back there, so Arkavas doesn't have an AP. Dang. The followup will have to wait.[/sblock]

[SBLOCK=OOC]I would like to see one of you taking over Radtash, as IMpact have not post for a long while.

HMG or Pathfinder, you are both the most active player at the moment, if one of you could take control of him, it would speed things up. Also, it would allow the team to build a strategy with him. Finally, unless Impact show up again, I allow you to use daily powers and non expendable magical items he has.[/SBLOCK]

[sblock= OOC] He is all yours. I'm generally reluctant to run other people's characters, and I'm not terribly familiar with 4e cleric tactics yet. From the look of things, the character sheet has not even been leveled up with the rest of the group- not sure if anything can be done about that... [/sblock]

[SBLOCK=OOC]You didn't get enough XP to level, but with the credit, you could get to 5th. As we can't assume what Impact want to do with his credit, he will continue as a 4th level Cleric.[/SBLOCK]
