As the others take refuge, Gruff stands against the Owlbear to allow a safe retreat. Arkavas is about to climb down into the Tor as he sees the Owlbear attacking Gruff and grabbing the dwarf. Gruff is wounded, but nothing he couldn't take.

Two sneak try to take advantage of the situation and throw dagger at Gruff, but the big monster make too much cover and miss him.

The Wing mage continue his attack on Arkavas, but there is too much cover between him and his target to make a hit.

Gruff twists in the Owlbear's claws, grunting almost incoherently. "Not today, you're not! You big beast! You twice-dammed lout!" The dragonshard secreted in the hilt of his kopesh flares, and Gruff brings the pommel down with a bonecracking crunch, breaking free at last. "Let's go, captain!"

The group retreat into the tor. They hear the Owlbear shrieking his frustration as he lost his prey, but he doesn't seems to be interested to follow the group into a hole too small for him to safely enter it. After a moment, the group hear the owlbear leaving. They prepare themselves to get the kenku, but after a moment, it is clear the group of kenku will not follow them into the tor.

Sweetness continued to crouch beside the doorway from the stairs, waiting in ambush for the kenku as the rest of the group took a moment to gather themselves. Once it became obvious that the kenku weren't going to follow, the gnoll shook her head and gave a whine of frustration. "No breakfast after all, yep yep yep. What now? Go on into tomb some more, while they wait outside? Or go clear out stupid tasty bird men, now that they don't have surprise?"

OOC: Do we want to press on with the exploration, knowing that the kenku are waiting outside, or do we want to go after them, now that we have time to form a coherent strategy?

"I say we leave them behind us. As long as we watch our backs, I think we'll be all right." Arkavas shrugs, "Who knows. Maybe we'll find a back door." He scratches his bald head for a moment and then shrugs again, "What about that narrow stairway off to the right back there." He points to the shrine room past the antechamber where they had first encountered the gelatinous cube, "Wonder what that leads to."

With a moment to breathe Gogmorthak takes stock of his wounds, "Bah ain't that bad. Lets continue down here and keep watch behind us. I'll take rear guard again from here on out."
