Gruff shakes himself. Droplets of owlbear blood spatter the walls. "I dunno.. they didn't seem too bad. That big beast was winded, and we barely even hit our stride. We'll make short work of them later, but for now let's head back the way we were."

You cross again the trapped corridor and after the summoning room, you find some stair down. You climb down the stairs to find a large room on your right. Four statues are arranged near the northern entrance. To the south, a grid of letters is inscribed in the floor.

Several odd-looking, partly humanoid constructs and one iron cobra-like construct flank the letter grid, motionless. A niche on the south wall glows with faintly purple light.

Sweetness took a brief considering look around the room, then shook her massive shaggy head. "Looks like trap to Sweetness, yep yep yep," the gnoll growled. "Spell right words, open door- spell wrong words, wake up statues. Somebody feeling clever, or do we want Sweetess to mess with it?"

Arkavas studies the room carefully, "I've played some right crazy games in my life, but I'm not too sure about this one." His eyes drift from one construct to another, and he examines the runes on the floor, "Wonder what happens if we get it wrong."[sblock=OOC]History = 17

Arkavas extend knowledge only allow him to understand that the purple light is the weak manifestation of a closed magical portal.

ooc: out of action for a couple of days while I get my son enrolled in kindergarten and meet my new nephew and niece. Should be able to post on Friday, NPC me if you need to.

also ooc: CROW top left to bottom right.

[sblock=OOC]Good point E13. Another thing to point out. Though not in order, the letters that spell the word "OPEN" and "CLOSE" are also on the board[/sblock]

[SBLOCK=OOC]Map Updated

I've added the constructs and the purple glow in the map, as told in the previous description, to give you a better idea of the situation.[/SBLOCK]

Sweetness looked curiously at the rune-scribed tiles in the floor for a few moments. Then she made a slow circuit of the room, examining each of the statue-like figures in turn. Finally the gnoll rejoined the rest of the group. "So, what do we want to do, yep yep yep? Mess with floor, try to spell magic words?"

OOC: Examining the floor tiles- does it look like they sink into the floor like pressure plates, or are they fixed?
>Examining the statues and constructs: are they fixed to the floor, or does it look like they can move (or be moved, tipped over, etc.)? For the archer statues, do the bows have strings (which could be cut)? Any other details which might help with the trap/puzzle solving? Perception +9= 11, Thievery +12= 26; rolls Roll Lookup
