(Adventure) The Burning Tower (Knight Otu Judging) [Concluded]

You can't help but notice Nars' severe wounds. Even to the jaundiced eyes of fellow adventurers, they look severe to the point of being worisome.

"hmm ...another animated armor? Sounded a bit too heavy for a hollow construct. The wizard himself? unlikely..."
Letting his thoughtful gaze drop from the ceiling the Elf notices the Dwarfs wounds.

"Well Nars, it looks like those dervishes roughed you up quite a bit. Lle tyava quel?"² Morulas inquires.
"Wasn't there something useful in those vials from the study?"

Heading back to the previous room, Morulas fetches the remaining potions, studying them as he returns
"... a cat's grace, a fox cunning?.. nothing to mend bones or heal bruises. Whatever awaits us upstairs, it seems we are all about to risk our very lifes for this strange Wizard."

Persephone

"Someone should try to cure Nars before we continue. Ismael, you may be our only healer. We should all chip in at the end to get your wand recharged for you."

"My understanding is that our socerer powers come from our ancestry. Dragons can transform into human form, or halfling form if they wish. Some dragons can, anyway. I have an ancestor who was a Silver Dragon, or so the story goes. How well do you know your family history."

Persephone lingers over the china and tablecloths. "Nice" she mutters. "I'll need some of these when I get my own palace."

Ishmael mused for a moment, also using the pause to calm himself. "I... I cannot recall any oddity within mine own lineage. If an ancestor of mine were to ...umm... lay with a Wyrm, then I would have been told... shouldn't I...?"

His brows furrowed in consternation, he barely looked able to withstand the weight of his thoughts. "...I shall see to Nars' injuries right away. If thou wilt excuse me..." He said numbly, distracted by his thoughts.

ooc: Spending a charge of the wand on Nars.

Ishmael's wand proves quite effective, fully healing Nars with a single invocation.

"Aye, Morulas, I've taken my share of beatings, but this is among the worst. I'm afraid that elven tough does fall on deaf ears though."

After he is healed:
"Thankyou Sir Ishmael. As good as a dwarven cleric if I do say so myself. I feel as though I could dance a jig." Nars realizes how much he's been talking an grows a embarassed, blushing a bit, quite a site to see a full grown dwarf with his cheeks red and not from drink. He clears his throat, "Up sounds good." He grimly draws his second sword and avoids eye contact with the rest of the group for the moment, preparing to ascend the stairs.

Rodimus and Nars stand on the stairway, but have not yet passed beyond the threshhold of the blue energy. With Nars healed, Gorefoots injuries (though less severe) are more apparent. Does anyone wish to prepare in any additional way before climbing the stairs? Also, please indicate in what order you will climb the stairs, and anything else you think I ought to know.

"You're very talented, Sir Ishmael." Persephone says with genuine admiration in her face. "People don't always know a dragon when they see one, so one of your ancestors, perhaps one on both sides, may have made the beast with two backs with 'em and never known. Or maybe it's something else entirely. There are much better authorities than me on these things. It sure feels good, doesn't it? To feel the power rush through you." she shakes her head and laughs. "Nothing like it."

Persephone positions herself at or neat the back, knowing her magic missiles can strike regardless of where she stands. She also clutches her loaded crossbow.

"Thou art quite welcome, Nars." Ishmael nodded at the compliment, greatly appreciating it due to his high notions of dwarvenkind. "I can only do mine own humble part, which pales in comparison to thine skills in clockwork and artifice"

Persephone's compliment however colored his pale cheeks red. He didn't know what to say to it, especially because of his own Order's treatment of him. "Mine thanks, milady." was all he could say.

A slight pause for composure and thought later, he continued "Thine words doth seem correct to mine ears. Perhaps the coupling was without prior knowledge. I shan't give the matter further and unecessary worry. Further, sorcery doth indeed feel natural and goodly to mine body and spirit." He flexed his mailed left hand.

"Mayhap," he said more to himself than anyone else "this is mine true path"

Ishmael's words brought him from introspection and back unto the situation at hand. He readied his shield. Seeing as there was no more room up front, he stayed at the back of the party. If Lady Fant instructed him to take position elsewhere, he would follow her commands. He holstered Violet.

Standing at the diner table and studying the potions* laid out before him, Morulas appears to be rather sceptical.
"We know that we cannot return through these force fields and pressing on may well leave us trapped on the top floor right in the scene of a magical accident with nowhere left to go."

Pointing at the staircase he adds
"We also know that more, and likely more dangerous guardians wait for us. While I do not doubt this groups ability to deal with them, it may still be foolish to rush in without knowing what is in store for us, wrecking yet more of this tower with no idea if it will actually help us."

Turning his blue-and-silver eyes back towards the study, the Elf concludes
"The solution to it all may well be hidden in Rilithornes study within that hidden vault. It might contain notes or diaries that could help us shut down those forcefields, maybe even pass those guardians. It might even give us hints on what kind of experiments the wizard was working on, and a broken vault will come alot cheaper in life and gold than another wrecked animated Guardsman. What do you think?"

* We've got a potion of Cat's Grace and a potion of Blur. Both might be useful for an upcoming fight... any takers?
