(Adventure) The Burning Tower (Knight Otu Judging) [Concluded]

OOC: Sorry. Lost internet access yesterday...

Persephone shifts back into her standard personae. "Well. I thought I'd try it. Maybe they'll be an opportunity to try it again later. I'm no good with locked doors. I'll just stay back here with Fant."

Gorefoot - Gnome Barbarian 1

Understanding lights up Gorefoot's face when Persephone shifts back. Then he shrugs his shoulders and turns to batter down the door.

OOC: Power attacking the door for 1. +4 to hit, 1d10+6 damage.

Persephone's transformation back and forth astounded Ishmael. He had not encountered such serious and blatant magicks up close before. Whilst the bolts of force were very much unsubtle, the ability to shift face and feature was more interesting to Ishmael.

Whilst the others began to work upon the door, he asked her when her own sorcerous powers awakened. "My own hath begun to manifest a week ago" he offered. "I am ignorant of its source, though odd dreams come upon me on occasion. Does the same happen to thee?"

Surprise Round & Initiative

With repeated pounding, Gorefoot batters at the door. With a final mighty blow, he reduces it to splinters. As the door gives way, a previously invisible glyph flares to life, and a swirling creature of pure wind appears in the remnants of the doorway, scattering the splinters of wood that remained after Gorefoot's assault. The wind creature, no bigger than Gorefoot, immediately attacks, buffeting Gorefoot for 3 points of damage and swirling back 5' into the room.

Initiative:
Sir Ishmael (19) (Dex 16)
Persephone (19) (Dex 14)
Nars (18)
Elemental (15)
Fant (14)
Rodimus (11) (Dex 14)
Gorefoot (11) (Dex 12)
Morulas (5)

Ishmael reacted to that attack quickly, his piercing blue eyes assessing the situation the few moments given him. The creature of air was a threat, but Ishmael was unsure whether the mass of humanoids around the elemental could take it down.

Ishmael did not wish to leave the sorceress' side in case another monster showed up. So he did what he could.

Ishmael loosened his shield (Move action) and with the same hand, (part of spellcasting)took out a miniature wooden replica of an archery target that hung from beneath his tunic. He shut his eyes for but a moment whilst a phrase in the harsh tongue of Draconic (Standard action) was loosed from his lips.

Those azure eyes opened a few seconds later. A vision of the near future had been given unto Ishmael: His next blow would strike true.

changed Nars's final position slightly

Nars is surprised but a moment by the appearance of the elemental. He somersaults past Gorefoot and to the side of the creature.

OOC: I'm not sure how far Nars is away from the creature. He starts behind Gorefoot, so the creature is probably 15ft away. He will do a double move tumble to end up on the creature's flank.

start: (E = Elemental, D = Doorway, G = Gorefoot, N = Nars, _ = wall)
Code:
    E
  __D__
    G
    N

End: (E = Elemental, D = Doorway, G = Gorefoot, N = Nars, _ = wall)
Code:
   N
    E
  __D__
    G

Tumble +5, AC 17, Speed 20 (10 while tumbling)

Persephone

Persephone's eyes widen at Ismael's revelation. "Oh? Are you of Dragon blood too? This sort of thing runs in my family. Perhaps I could help you understand it."

At that point, she is interupted by the elemental.

"Oh, I'm such a one-hit wonder. Well, I hope this works." Again she focuses her pale blue eyes and sends her blue missiles to work.

Magic missile. Spells/day(cast) level 0:6 (0); level 1: 6(3)

Round 1, Part 1

Ishmael calls upon his Arcane heritage for guidance.

Persephone blasts the elementals with her magic missiles for 6 points of damage.

Nars tumbles through the area, moving into position without triggering any attacks of opportunity. As he does so, however, two seperate glyphs on the floor flare to life, and more elementals appear as indicated here:

Code:
3 2

   N
    1
  __d__
    G R
       M
F P I

OOC: I've changed the door to a small 'd' to make it look less like a person, and changed the elementals to numbers so they can be easilly distinguished.

The elementals rush in to surround Nars and attack. One of the three misses, the other two hit for a total of 7 points of damage. Nars staggers from the blows, seriously wounded, and needs help!

Code:
  3 2
   N
    1
  __d__
    G R
       M
F P I

Nars says, "Oi! Still getting used to these tricksy wizards!"

OOC: You know, I almost said if more opponents show up after the first move action then use the second move action to go back into the study, but then I figured that was too complicated and thought, "What could possibly go wrong?" Sorry to the other PCs for making this combat a lot harder.
