(Adventure) The Burning Tower (Knight Otu Judging) [Concluded]

Gorefoot - Gnome Barbarian 1

Gorefoot looks as though he were about to pound the moaning puppet into splinters when Lady Fant orders him to assist Nars with the door. As he heads for the study, he hefts his greatsword in anticipation. When "Rilithorne" shouts announces his presence, Gorefoot whirls around to face "him". "Locking me in your tower with that puppet was a mistake. If it weren't for Lady Fant and the Princess you'd be out ..." As he mentions Persephone, he suddenly stops and scans the room. If he doesn't see through her disguise, he'll call out for her.

Morulas enters the study behind Gorefoot, wielding one of the Halberds to be properly armed should yet another animated guardian shows up.

"Wethrinaer"² he whispers momentarily confused "Arwenamin, Lle wethrine amin

Ishmael blinked, confused by the sudden turn of events. His grasp on Violet tightened unconsciously as he tried to make sense of what was going on. He remained silent and waited impatiently for events to play themselves out.

Manzanita said:
Then she steps back, and suddenly she is no longer Persephone, but the spitting image of the wizard in the picture. "Out of my way," he shouts, in a voice that sounds a little high for a man. "I need to get to the laboratory NOW!"

While the tower is demonstrably defended by a variety of semi-sentient servants, it would appear that the door leading out of the study to the Northeast is not one of them. Doorlike, it ignores Persephone's ingenious ploy.

After extensive searching, Nars is unable to locate a trap on the door, and unless the arcane lock is somehow defeated the door will need to be forced or reduced to splinters.

"Well, it, ah, looks like its Gorefoot's turn. Blasted spells." Turning away from the door and hearing "Rilithorne" speak, Nars thinks Hmm, the wizard sounds a bit ... feminine. He mutters under his breath, "About time you showed up." If Nars figures it out then he will start laughing heartily, if not then he will let some of the more diplomatic members of the group do the talking and thus will stay in the back.

OOC: Spot +4 opposed by disguise check +15

If no one points out to Gorefoot that "Rilithorne" is Persephone (he is unlikely to see it on his own), he will call out, "Princess? Where are you?"

OOC: Zweischneid, I just noticed Morulas' last name. "Blackleaf! NO!" *chuckle*

Nars does not recognize Persephone in her new guise, but does notice that Fant and Morulas among others seem undisturbed by recent events.

ooc: Please make your own rolls regarding the intra-party roleplaying matters. I think I've covered all outstanding matters, so let me know if I've missed something you want DM attention on.

OOC: In the interests of moving things along, can we assume that you explain the illusion to Gorefoot? If so, he will bash down the door (power attack for 1, 1d10+6 damage). If not, let me know that I'm being pushy ;)

Nars draws one short sword and positions himself behind Gorefoot. "Well, lets get on with it. Hopefully Persephone can, ah, convince any more guardians to let us pass."

OOC: Moving along sounds good.
