Round 6

(I'm going to try and keep the battle rolling, hopefully no one will be offended. If you want me to pause longer between rounds, let me know.)

Initiative: Fant, Nars, Rodimus, Morulas, Persephone, Ishmael, Gorefoot, Living Spell.

Fant & Nars (who is handling the smoke well) attempt to aid Gorefoot, and are somewhat succesfull in distracting the beast while the little Barbarian slashes away.

(Rodimus & Morulas could go here)

Persephone does her best to stay safely out of the way, and is a good bit away from the melee at the moment. She bumps into some sort of lab table, but can't find anything on it with the smoke so thick.

Ishmael hurls another flask of oil, which bursts into flames on contact with the living spell. The living spell takes 4 points of damage, and for a moment seems to catch fire. The pyrotechnics spell quickly consumes the flames, and while it still takes the initial damage the fire is extinguished before more damage can be dealt. This produces more smoke, though this is difficult to distinguish from the previous smoke.

Fant, Nars, and Ishmael each take one point of fire damage.

Gorefoot strikes, but fails to damage the enemy.

The living spell attacks Fant, but misses.

Nars grits his teeth as he is splashed with burning oil. He continues about his business of trying to hinder the enemy's defenses.

OOC: Aid Gorefoot. Attack +2. AC 17. No problems here with speeding up the battle rounds. If the Living Spell attacks Nars, he will go full defense the next round, AC 21, and stay that way until it attacks someone else.

Morulas paces back and forth on the outside of the ward, trying to come up with a way to help the fighting people inside. Swearing pointedly about humans in elven, he once more walks over to Rilithorne's Spellbook, trying to find something that might be usable against the smokecreature by those not schooled in the arcane arts.

ooc: I'm fine with this speed

Ishmael was barely able to see the results of his actions. He gritted his teeth past the pain of burning oil, but frowned when he finally understood that his plan would injure it less than he thought. He decided to save the burning oil for a last resort.

The halfling readied his shield (move action) to provide a greater defense for his spellcasting efforts. He touched Violet to the spell's arcane focus and concentrated the last of his major arcane energies upon the divination (standard action) for a third.

Gorefoot - Gnome Barbarian 1

Gorefoot continues to rain blows on the creature.

OOC: I'm fine with speeding the fight up. For now, Gorefoot will continue power attacking. If he takes a good chunk of damage, then he'll rage.

Persepohone

Persephone pulls her sleeve up to cover her mouth as she tries to breath through the smoke. She kneels next to the table and begins to crawl around on the floor, feeling around for something that might have been knocked off.

Round 7

Initiative: Fant, Nars, Rodimus, Morulas, Persephone, Ishmael, Gorefoot, Living Spell.

Fant and Nars aid Gorefoot.

(Rodimus can go here.)

Morulas pages frantically through the spellbook, while Persephone searches on the floor -- she finds some shards, possibly of broken pottery, near the table.

Ishmael casts another True Stike, drawing an attack of opportunity. The luckless ooze misses again.

Gorefoot has plenty of help, but fails to locate the Living spell in the smoke.

The living spell flails about, missing so badly you're not really sure which of you it was aiming at.

Ishmael loosed the shield upon his arm and gripped Violet with both hands. Uttering a warcry, the Deep Halfling swung the warsledge with all of his might while trying to maintain a defensive posture.

ooc: Power attack 2 and Fighting Defensively

Warhammer +20 1d6+7

Fant yelps as oil splashes her again, but sees how it affects the creature, and how the battle in general is going, and lets it pass without comment. She continues her assault on the creature.

This speed is good.
