(Adventure) The Burning Tower (Knight Otu Judging) [Concluded]

Round 2

You can't see anything going on inside the sphere unless someone actually presses up against the field. A bow won't be any help at all. Ishmael, Persephone and Fant walked into the area adjacent to Gorefoot, and neither can see him at all, nor can he see any of them.

Persephone readies an action to cast magic missile, though she has little hope of being able to use it.

Ishmael casts true strike and steps forward 5', aproaching the noisy opponent.

Just as well it's concentrating on me, since I seem to have little hope of causing harm. "Percy! Can you do anything? If you can't, stand back!" Fant realizes that, with no vision whatsoever, this is unlikely; if her suspicions are confirmed, she'll do her best to distract the creature from Ishmael and Gorefoot, who stand a better chance of hurting it.

ooc:Fight defensively and expertise for a total of -1 on attacks and 19 AC. Can you flank something with total concealment? If so, Fant readies an action (triggered by Persephone's response) to 5' step opposite of where she hears her allies and attack. If not, attack from where she is.

Persephone

Persephone, hearing the fight starting and feeling helpless, calls to Fant. "I can't shoot it if I can't see it! I'll try to find a fire!"

With that, she stumbles into the midst of the smoke, trying to walk towards the center, arms outstretched, trying to find fire or beads.

Round 3

In round 2, Fant readied an action, changing her initiative order.

New initiative: Fant, Persephone, Ishmael, Gorefoot, Living Spell.

Fant grimaces at the realization that Persephone has no intention of following orders, but she is unable to do much about it in the smoke. Stepping into position to flank with Ishmael, she swings at the enemy, but misses due to the smoke.

Persephone wanders off into the smoke.

(Ishmael goes here, and his true strike is ready.)

Gorefoot swings, smashing the living spell for 4 points of damage.

The living spell misses Fant once more.

"Be careful, Percy!" shouts Fant. At least we can breath a little in here. She is pleased to hear Gorefoot elicit some sort of noise of pain. It can be hurt. Good. She continues shifting around it, both to cut off it's route towards Persephone and to help Gorefoot. "Hold steady out there, everything's under con-" clang! she brings up her shield to fend off the creature, "...trol."

Aid Another on Gorefoot's attack, with the same defensive menuevers.

His hands guided by powers arcane, Ishmael launched a crushing blow at the Living Spell. Though he did strike with the utmost of his strength, he also tried to mix defense with offense.

Warhammer +22* 1d6+6

(+2 Str, +2 BAB, +1 size, -2 P.A, -4 Fighting Defensively, +20 True Strike, +2 Flank = +20)

Round 4 begins

Previously, in round 3: The power of Ishmael's divination allows him to drive violet straight into the living spell, even though he cannot see it. While a solid blow (ooc: 10 pts), it sadly lacks the enchantment that would enable it to harm the creature. Perhaps if Ishmael shifted violet into a two handed grip... (ooc: just as a reminder, True Strike has no somatic component and is not subject to spell failure.)

Initiative: Fant, Persephone, Ishmael, Gorefoot, Living Spell.

Yelling across the smoke to Gorefoot, Lady Fant coordinates her strike with his, to Gorefoots benefit.

Persephone is up next.

ooc: Alas, that was a 2-handed power attack hence the 1d6+6 instead of 1d6+2.

Ishmael grimaced as the Living Spell shrugged off his blow with nary a pause.

He used the only other weapon available to him, transferring Violet to his left hand. Leaving himself open to attack, he drew a prepared flask of oil from his belt (provoking AoO).

"Flaming Oil!" he warned the others as he tossed the flask at the ooze's general area (provoking AoO). Ishamel, Gorefoot and Fant would take minor burns, but Ishmael hoped that the fuse would light true and burn the creature.

ooc: The flask has a 50% chance of lighting up and functioning as alchemist's fire.

Oil Flask +7

ooc: If it's normally d6+2, wouldn't a 2-handed grip with two points of power attack be d6+7? Strength damage would go from 2 to 3, power attack damage would be 4. If this is the case, Ishmael did a point of damage to the Living Spell. Nimisgod, let me know what I'm leaving out if I'm wrong.

Ishmael misses with the oil, but Fant and the Living Spell each take one point of damage from the splash. The flames extinguish quickly upon coming into contact with the living spell, but not so quickly as to save the monster from the initial damage.

ooc: Oops. Look's like I'm wrong again. I totally forgot about the strength mod and a half for two handed strikes. Lol. Looks like I did one more point of damage to the Ooze.
