"Myself, Sir Ishmael, and Gorefoot," Fant answers crisply. She's devoted no small amount of troubled thought to the subject, but she continues confidently, "Gorefoot, Ishmael and I will likely last the longest and are most likely to be able to harm the creature in hand-to-hand combat, and three is the optimum number to defend against a single opponent." By which she means the
minimum, number, and thus the minimum risk. Fant is not being entirely honest- while it is true that she is
most likely, after Ishmael and Gorefoot, to be able to harm the creature, she is a disdant third in that respect; truth be told, given her own doubts as to their success, she can not comprehend the breach of honor it would take to send another in instead of herself. "If more are needed, they will enter the field on my command or, failing that, Sir Ishmael's. Be prepared; we will call your name. If you are unlikely to harm the creature yourself, focus instead on keeping it from Persephone."
"Prepare yourself, gentlemen." She draws her sword and straps her shield to her arm. "Whenever you are ready, your Majesty."
If I figure it right, no matter which angle the creature comes at us from, we're a collective 5' step from interposing ourselves between it and Persephone.
Fant will attack the creature while using Combat Expertise for -1 attack, +1 AC. The reccomended tactics for Sir Ishmael and Gorefoot is two-handed power attacking.
