[Adventure] The Cannith Caper (Judge: THB)

Haltor rubs White-Eye's flanks in encouragement, then rushes head-on at the nearest collection of bone and such. For Vistrathis! He lashes out quickly with his sharrash, seemingly bowling over the collection of dead remains.

Varis is befuddled by the sudden turn in the conversation. He steps forward, but he rings with the words for the right remark on a bone mote.

[sblock=Varis]
Don't forget the effects on your attacks. I almost missed the -2 to attack rolls [/sblock]

Following the halflings charge, Varak takes a couple quick steps and slams his blade into the tomb mote, disrupting the gathering of bone, like a janitor sweeping up detritus. The half-orc then steps backward away from the creature.

The pile of bones picks itself up and strides next to Haltor, unable to do much further.

The other swarm of bones rushes forward and slams into Varis, doing a minor bit of damage to the half-elf, but leaving a lingering pain.

The bone wyrm moves forward, the skittering of its bone legs on the floor sets you on edge, and it moves with lightning speed, faster than you can react, it passes by Varak, but the half-orc jumps over it, however Varis is caught by one of its claws and this wound is much worse than the last one.

Suddenly, ghostly light pulses in the ancient nozzles, and phantom flame
silently explodes into existence. The ghostly flames slam into Varis & Varak, the half-orc caught in the blast.

[sblock=Arcana or Religion DC21]
You realize that Haestus left behind some necrotic energy that will likely harm you and heal the undead he left behind.

However, you can likely attempt to shut it down without a mechanical response.

Arcana or Religion (DC 21); standard action; a creature can attempt the check from anywhere in the trap’s encounter area. A total of four successes disables the trap. Any failure by 5 or more allows the trap to attack as an immediate reaction. [/sblock]

[sblock=R1]Are your hp for Varak/Varis right? I should have been at full at the beginning at the battle(45hp) and you state that only Varis took damage in this round, but you've got Varak at 27 hp[/sblock]

Varis d'Lyrandar , Half-Elf Bard 4

Varis steps back, his powerful stormsong revitalizes and cools his flesh. His words also hit the boneswarm with a feel-able force, trowing it back toward Haltor.

start of round: loose 10 HP from ongoing damage.

free: giving 1st ally in 5 sq who kills or bloodies an enemy 4 THP.

[sblock=ooc]renau1g, did we get a milestone after the last fight? (Wondering if I got an action point)

Also, Harressh is not going to try to shut down that trap, his Arcana check is crappy.[/sblock]

Harressh roars as his gith friend vanishes with the Cannith spirit, but is then forced to focus on the attacking undead. After Varis pushes the boneswarms together, he spits meteors to fall around them, but continues to have trouble controlling his magic, and the projectiles impact harmlessly on the walls and ceiling.

I guess it still creates the fire zone in the burst area, if they leave it they take 4 fire damage.

My laptop is currently with IT being migrated to my new unit so I'm without all my maptools files for now (I've backed them up on a memory stick also). I'm on vacation this week and my home PC is acting up as well so I should be able to post an update tomorrow when I get my lappie back. Sorry for delay [/sblock]

[sblock=Immediate Reaction]Shrug it off(when subject to an effect that a save than can end) shrug it off free save (1d20=14)Success and shift to BD62[/sblock]

As the flames roll over Varak, he curses, and rolls away, putting out the lingering flames. Varis sings a note of arcane power, and the half-orc finds himself near both swarms of bones. Varak spins and thrusts, sweeping through the bones, and disrupting their forms.

[sblock=Actions]
Standard:(assuming Varis' forced slide worked and Varak is next to both swarms.): whirling frenzy vs TM60 and TM 84 reflex(burst attack) (1d20+11=24, 1d20+11=26, 2d10+8=25)Since it's a close burst, the swarm's resistance doesn't apply. Should hit both for 25.
Move: Shift to BF61
Free: Shroud the wyrm
Other: If I bloody any of the swarms, I'll use whirling slayer to gain CA against both swarms; if one swarm is reduced to 0 hp, my ki focus will do 4 damage to an adjacient enemy, and I'll use whirling lunge to do 1d10+1 damage to the swarm and shift 3 sq, closer to the bone wyrm.

This triggers Varis' leader-y benefit and grants 4 thp to Varak for bloodying the swarms (nice attack Evo) [/sblock]

The swarms attack Varak, but the half-orc dodges nimbly out of the way.

The bone wyrm stands up and slashes at Haltor, but the halfling's armor holds tough.
