OOC: Harressh has crappy Insight so... after the bugbear has told us the way around the traps, he'll try to Intimidate him into admitting if he is trying to trick us. So insert this after whatever he tells us.

Harressh leans in close to the bugbear. "If you're lying about this, you'd better hope the trap kills us. Because if not, I will find you." The dragonborn opens his jaws inches from the goblinoid's face; the temperature drops noticeably, and his teeth sparkle with ice crystals. "Having the blood frozen solid in your veins is a very slow and painful way to die." There is a soft crackling noise as the bugbear's facial fur flash-freezes.

OOC: Intimidate (1d20+14=34) Crit Intimidate, heh...

Varis d'Lyrandar , Half-Elf Bard 4

Having already used his honey tongue, Varis asks himself if the bugbear can really be trusted...

Passive Insight = 19 ... or should I roll?

I'm ok, if he tells the truth ;)

The bugbear walks to a pile of furs and throws them out of the way, reaching down and pulling on a loose tile in the floor, revealing a lever that opens up a trap door, with a ladder descending down. "Can't really say where it goes, never went down myself, but Valsath went down to avoid the traps. There's about a half dozen hobs with her, plus another few bugbears, and Valsath" he says

The bugbear seems genuine to Varis.

"Avoid what traps? Or rather, where are the traps to be avoided? Down the other hallway, or somewhere else?"

[sblock=ooc]I have no real sense of the map right now but I'm good for going down the rabbit hole if folks are so inclined.[/sblock]

"Hmmm, I ain't knowing exactly what, but Valsath said they got the old Cannith traps working so from what I'm guessing they're all magical and deadly." the bugbear replies.

A search of the room turns up a small pouch with a trio of potions in it. 1 Fire Beetle Potion and a pair of Healing Potions, as identified by Varis.

Haltor leads White-Eye into the room. The both are showing their age. As the others talk, the older halfling tends to the girls wounds best he can.

Seeing the shifter eye the trapdoor, Haltor calls over. We're in no shape to get down there yet. This is as good as a place to hole up as any.

OOC: 0HS left.

[sblock=ooc]Sorry, Gark is predictably fresh. No problems with an extended rest if that's what we need. If we do stay in this room, I'd be a little worried about the bugbear turning us in to his former employers for even more cash - assuming he knows more about how this place than we do, which considering we know zero, seems reasonable. I'd suggest we either camp closer to the entrance to make sure no one comes or goes, or somehow otherwise make sure he gets lost before possibly exposing our position.

As for the potions, who wants 'em?[/sblock]

"Yes, I think some rest is needed. Anyone wants to hear some music to help to relax?" Varis asks, his fingers searching for his flute.

short rest and spending 1 HS. Then long rest? Varis used up his daily and has only 2 HS left.

Harressh harrumphs and cracks his knuckles. "I'm ready to push on." He seems to have something to prove, after his poor performance in some of the battles.

[sblock=ooc]Still a decent number of surges left plus my daily. But especially if the next fight is against the mercenary leader, it'd be better for the group to be fresh I suppose.

Do we have any reason to think there is time pressure? Like what exactly are the mercs up to? I guess we don't know...[/sblock]
