The lantern took some time to light, as it had not fully dried after the quicksand incident. After a minute or two of trying, Mona finally got a flame to catch. She poured some oil into the lantern. Girding herself for the descent, Mona pulled out from her things and strapped it securely upon her left arm. She then took up the lantern with her right hand.
The illumination spilled over the steps and unto the darkness below as the party made their way cautiously into the belly of the ruins. The water was relatively calm as it mirrored the light from the lantern upon its surface. The sound of rushing water could be heard as the rain gathered into this place from above. It obscured subtler sounds in its echoes.
When at last they reached the base of the stairs, the party from Orussus found themselves in the familiar unfurnished, flooded room. The ceiling was strangely high, unbefitting a basement level. As they had discovered when they were here last, the water's surface was 1 foot from the ground. For most of them, it was up to their boots. For Ogrin and Mona, the water reached up to their upper thighs. Beneath their feet, the ground was treacherous so quick movement was hazardous. Less hazardous but far more annoying was the wretched stench that permeated this place. T'was true that the marsh above them was no bed of flowers, but there was a nigh nauseating malodorous presence in the depth of these ruins that whilst their eyes could not yet percieve, their olfactory senses shrank in horror. Mona raised her shield hand to ward off the smell.
Nezrak and Scun felt that particular feeling again
OOC: I'm assuming that Scun is wielding his long spear and Rasereit has both axes in hand. Tell me if I'm wrong, guys.
OOC2: As usual, if you have any questions or are confused about something either email me or bring it up here.

Thanks to the lantern's light, Nezrak's elven sight penetrated the darkness far better than even the darkvision of dwarf or orc. The grey elf thought he saw something move in the water, unsettling the water in its passage. He didn't actually see the creature, just the water it was moving about.
Nezrak could see the end of the hall, unlike the others. There seemed to be some kind of disturbance there. His intellect at work, he surmised that the water was pouring into a lower passage ahead. Perhaps there might be a descending set of stairs here.
