(Adventure) The Island of Varras'zul (Manzanita Judging) (Concluded)

After Nezraks actions, be it spellcasting or something else, Ogrin will leap into the battle from the stairs and attack the fiend with his rapier, hoping the creature will be off-guard to an attack in that direction.

OOC: I'm figuring it should be less than 20ft to jump from F5, meaning a successful roll will probably negate the damage. Move to F5, jump down using Tumble +7 to avoid some falling damage and then continue to H5 and do one single attack.

Whether it's a sneak attack or not is up to the DM.

ooc: Scun has BAB +0 so he can't draw a weapon as part of a move.

Scun dropped his spear then drew his sickle. he then moved down the stairs. Caution thrown aside whilst moving down the slippery stair steps and unbalanced by armor and shield, Scun lost his footing. The half-orc of Mongrel slid some five feet down the stairs, catching himself with shield and sickle before falling even further and doing himself injury.

ooc2: Scun is prone and in F6. His spear is in E4.

ooc3: rln: it won't be a sneak attack because Golgol was aware of Ogrin already.

Nezrak's turn

Nezrak will try to move down the stairs without getting himself killed.

OOC: Double move, trying to get somewhere behind Rillian, like J8.

Concentrating on his steps downward, Nezrak moved carefully down the stairs. He eventually ended up at his destination, behind Rillian.

Ogrin jumped down the stairs, landing on his feet and rolling forward to absorb the impact. The halfling's roll took him right next to Golgol, whom he tried to skewer with his rapier. The point of the thin sword penetrated its target's rocky hide but Golgol seemed to shrug off the stab as if it were nothing.

Mona moved cautiously down the stairs, the way Nezrak had. Due to her shorter stature, however, she was not able to make her way down fast enough to match the grey elf.

"Be wary!" she warned her comrades as she descended the slippery steps slowly "Mundane weapons are ineffective against an Earth Mephit!"

Golgol lashed out with both stony claws at Rillian, but to its chagrin, was not able to touch the human at all. It took a step back, utilizing its environment against the humanoids.

ooc: Attacking it from around the corner provides it with cover.

ooc: Natually. I thought that it was obvious that the corner worked both ways.

Rillian stabbed at the creature but missed.

Rasereit's Turn

"Ye blasted thing, c'mere!" Dropping his weapons to the ground, Rasereit again throws himself at Golgol and attempts to throw the creature to the ground.

Rasereit launched himself at Golgol once more, but this time it was ready. The Mephit, with its sharp, dagger-like claws, tore into the dwarf as soon as it found an opening in his defenses. Despite its stunted and misshapen build, Rasereit found that the creature was as powerful as the earth itself. In scant seconds, the claws knifed through his armor and struck deep into his side (8 damage, 2HP remaining)

To add insult to injury, the pain and the impact of the blow prevented him from completing his tackle.

Scun's Turn

Scun hears Mona's warning and drops his sickle, pulls out his club, and casts magic weapon on it, then moves slightly closer (5')

Nezrak steps a bit closer to the battle, waiting to see what happens.

OOC: Move to J6, total defense.
