(Adventure) The Island of Varras'zul (Manzanita Judging) (Concluded)

"Tell us of what lies ahead Golgol, tell us and perhaps we will give you golds." Rillian puts away the silver, and pulls out a single gold coin. Making sure the coin is in the light, he slowly rolls the coin across his fingers, and back.

"Golgol only go one floor down but Golgol see metal wall and many crawlies. Ones who go before Golgol take all shinies!

Now give Golgol golds!"

Golgol was now clearly excited by the prospect of payment.

As he listens to the indecisive dialogues of his party members, Rasereit quickly becomes impatient. He says to Golgol, in a strained voice, "Y'know what, Gol-thinger? Ye're right. Ye and Ah aren't the same at all. Which is why Ah'll be havin' no regret for doing this!" With that, Rasereit throws his mighty dwarven frame forward at the pathetic creature and attempts to throw him down to the ground, where he plans to pummel him into submission.

OOC: That would be a 5' step, a grapple initiation (w/ attack of opportunity on Razh by Golgol) which he plans to hold until further notice.

Surprise Round:

Golgol was too surprised by Rasereit's sudden moves to dodge to the dwarf's tackle. The dwarf managed to latch unto Golgol before a single claw was swung.

Unfortunately for Rasereit, Golgol managed to regain its senses half a second after the dwarf initiated the takedown. Stony muscles flexed, revealing a powerful strength that belied its squat form. It shrugged the dwarf off, breaking the needed contact for the grapple.

"Stone stronger than Flesh! Golgol show!"

Instead of lashing out with its claws however, Golgol smiled then spit a flurry of sharp stone fragments and at Rasereit and Rillian.

Rasereit took the worst of it. The fragments went through mail and flesh, causing terrible wounds to the dwarf. (5 damage, 10 HP remaining)

Rillian's reflexes sent him to a rolling crouch. He caught some of the projectiles, but considerably less than Rasereit did. Despite this turn of luck, however, the partially healed wounds from the previous battle still burned with pain. (2 damage, 2 HP remaining)

Round 1:

20 Rillian (2/6)
16 Rasereit (10/15)
14 Scun
11 Nezrak
10 Ogrin
05 Mona
04 Golgol

Rillian drops the gold coin (sort of towards Golgol, but keep it a free action). He then draws his shortsword (move), takes a 5ft(free) to J6 and attacks Golgol. "Rasereit we should move to flanking positions."

Rillian's attack struck true, steel piercing Golgol's rocky hide. There was some resistance to the sword thrust, lessening its effect. But in the end, black ichor stained the human's shortsword (3 damage).

Rasereit's Turn

"Oh, ye'll pay fer that 'un, ye bloody monster! Ye sure will!" Rasereit grunts as he again throws his body forward, though this time with his axes leading the way. "This'll teach ye to prey on nice people like us!"

Golgol ducked and weaved at Rasereit's assault. Neither hand nor war ax were able to pierce Golgol's armored hide.

Scun's Turn

Scun will move up, drawing his sickle and then making a trip attempt on Golgol with it. If counter-tripped, scun will drop the weapon instead of being tripped.
