(Adventure) The Island of Varras'zul (Manzanita Judging) (Concluded)

A quick search of the two other rooms in the area yielded nothing of interest. Anything of value had already been stripped from these rooms long ago. These may have been storage rooms, but there was little left of the evidence that showed them to be so. These rooms were in worse states than the Golgol's room. Probably, the Mephit did some cleaning or else took over the cleanest room in this part of the ruin.

Moving down the short hall, they entered a large room that was almost mirror image of the other. It had no pool of water but instead, a long crack marred the middle of the floor. It extended from the leftmost wall, where a room should have been as if a crushing blow had been struck here. The nearest doorway in this new room was in ruin and unpassable.

Water dripped and trickled down from small cracks in the ceiling. Little puddles formed in large numbers. Most of the water though just flowed into the crack and disappeared into the chambers below.

Visible were a set of stairs going down and two more rooms. Unlike the stairs they had encountered in the past, this set looked to be without the treacherous slime.

"I don't want any surprises; let's check those rooms out before we head down the stairs. The floor looks treacherous so I guess we should stick close to the right wall (S14 to I14)."

"Sounds like a plan t'me. Before we move on, though, Ah'd like to check out a few things, so wait up a bit." Razh strides over the collapsed doorway and examines the rocks, looking for a way to open the passage with any semi-ease. Once finished with that examination, he crouches to the ground and stares intently at the cracks, looking mostly for structural integrity and probable cause.

OOC: Funny, so was I.

The passage wouldn't take a lot of time to be passable. Rasereit concluded that it might just take a few minutes to clear the way. Without finer knowledge architecture, he was not sure if such an action was safe. Also, he was not sure if the room beyond the doorway was flooded with rubble.

His examination of the crack was likewise without much in the way of an answer. He wasn't sure if it would support a person's weight upon it. As for the cause, his instincts told him that it was as it looked: a powerful strike to the stone had done this damage.

Rasereit caught a glimpse of the floor below through the crack. It looked like an empty place. He did spy a large double door at the bottom though. It looked closed and chained to remain closed.

Rillian and Nezrak:

Rillian and Nezrak heard approaching footsteps from the large room they just left. They sound heavy and solid, though distant. When the footsteps stopped, a strange grinding sound followed. The new sound seemed to be coming from the stone wall near them (O13).

"Hey guys, I heard footsteps approaching from the room we just left. When the footsteps stopped, a strange grinding sound followed. The new sound is coming from the stone wall right there" Rillian points at the wall in location O13.

Rillian and Nezrak:
The grinding sound stopped.

"What was that sound?" Mona had heard it as well. She stepped cautiously away from that wall section.
