Nezrak stood up, gripping the wall beside him for support.
Rasereit loosed a bolt from his crossbow, taking care not to hit his comrades who were in melee with the Xorn. The projectile missed completely, striking the wall behind its target and bouncing off without breaking (Attack: 5 +3 -4 =4). When it clattered on the floor, Rasereit saw that the bolt remained more or less usable, so he could pick it up and reuse it later. The dwarf reloaded his weapon, drawing the bowstring back and replacing the launched bolt.
Ogrin loaded a bullet into his sling then began whirling the weapon above his head. Moving as swiftly as he could, he moved to a space behind Rasereit (S9). This was one of the few open spots available.
Seeing that the halfling was going to stay back, the cleric of Mongrel took advantage of the distraction that Rillian provided. Scun struck a weak point in the Xorn's natural armor that was previously covered. Rillian's distraction made the Xorn reveal that small area and the cleric battered at it with the crudgel. For the first time in the battle, the Xorn cried out in pain. (Attack: 19 +4 +2= 25, Damage: 5 +4 =9)
The Xorn was angry now. Roaring furiously in its grinding voice, it attacked Scun. The half-orc suffered a vicious bite from the Xorn. Combined with yesterday's wounds, this was enough to bring the half-orc down (Attack1: 19 +6 =25, Damage1: 6 +2 =8, Attack2: 17 +4 =21, Damage2: 2 +1 =3)-5/9 hp). After felling the half-orc, it struck the fallen body once (to make sure it was dead) then turned its attentions to its other assailant: Rillian.
This time, Rillian wasn't able to escape the Xorn's sharp claws. The human was soon covered in blood and painful cuts.
(Attack3: 15 +4 =19, Damage3: 1 +1 =2)
(Attack4: 16 +4= 20, Damage4: 3 +1 =4, HP: 0/6)
It stepped toward Rasereit, bringing the threat of injury to the dwarf and the grey elf.
