(Adventure) The Monestary of Saint Feragon <Judge:Macbeth>

OoC:I'm not sure which door constitutes 'the other door', though feel free to let me know with it's letter designation (where it is on the map).

[I was operating under the presumption that we went forward to check the latest room (approx. btwn. C/D 16, right of where the room that contained handaxes was), and that now Rurik wants to backtrack a little (left of the axe room, toward C/D 1) and get the doors they passed. If this isn't right, or we've already checked those doors, I'll edit.]

Rurik wanders backward from where they encountered the pack, checking doors they passed before, to see if they open as easily as the previous two had. If one appears to be locked, or worse yet, trapped, Rurik will signal Aranel as to where her skills might be needed.

OoC:Gotcha dpdx and nimisgod.

IC: Moving back along the Hall to the other side of the first explored room, Rurik and Ishmael find that this too, is an empty chamber.
Aranel and the others quickly ascertain that the other rooms along this Hall are also either living chambers or storage (the storage rom containing robes in white, pale gree and pale yellow, as well as belts).

"If these are living quarters then I suggest that our party should continue to the double doors yonder or to this hall's yet unseen end. The uncorrupted inhabitants of this place would likely be behind locked doors, to fend off their sorry brethren.

Far it be for me to toss aside caution, let us make haste with our investigations. These monsters, it seems, have bestial senses including that of scent. Thus, we shall find what allies we have wherever these monsters gather to lay seige upon their former kin."

Sir Ishmael checks the doors of the living quarters to see if any are locked. He does not stray far from the party though.

He pauses for a bit, but then tells tale to the party of his own musings of their situation. He speaks quietly and without condescension. "There is a courtyard or twain in this place, but I believe we should avoid these. The monsters we seek are ferocious and numerous. Thus, narrow halls and doorways are the most defensible places we have to blunt their assault.

I know that my words may seem obvious or second-nature to some of thee and disdainful to those of thee who hate being given advice. These beasts have lain sharp claw and fang to us with devastating results.

However, what they lack and what we have are wits and tactics. I believe that sound decisions will see us through, along with the timely use of brute force"

He nods at Rurik and Sturm at his mention of "brute force".

If the party will follow him, he will go toward the end of the hall (where their enemies came from). Otherwise, he follows the party's lead.

Rurik sidles up to Ishmael as they head for the double doors. Softly and quietly, he says to the paladin, "S'fine with me if yer want to take point, n' call the shots, you've proven capable 'nuf with that 'ammer, an' yer soul's purer'n anyone else's. I jus' ask one thing: when the time comes, make sure Sturm'n I got room to swing, too, if'n you can. We c'n be powerful good 'elp when there's things what need ta be chopped up. And I can vouch for Sturm in this, too: no one wants ta be 'n either our way when er's somethin' what needs ended."

Sir Ishmael nods. "Mine apologies if I seemed "high on my pony" there, friend Rurik. Shades of mine dwarven mentor, Sir Mazan.

Sturm's scythe and thine war axe have proven more effective as banes for our enemies than mine own Violet. Common wisdom would tell that thou and Sturm shouldst front any assault upon our foes. Who am I to deny thine sharp steel to our foes?

Rest assured, friend: Thou and Sturm be given much room and opportunity to swing against foe and door shouldst the situation warrant strength in arms. I trust that in this place of danger, thine powers of destruction shall be needed aplenty"

The halfling awaits the opinions of the others on the matter as well as their opinions on the direction they should take. He is not entirely comfortable with taking the lead especially when there are wiser and/or more experienced folk about.

"Ye want us up front 'en? An' stickin'a the 'alls? 'gree with that 'n both, open air's a shamin' place fer battle."

He turns to Rurik slightly, muttering under his breath and trying not to move his lips.

"Vexin' half needs'n learn some common proper. 'sa trial but'n catch a word out 'im."

"Well, no un's keepin' a ledger a' you versus me, or Sturm, an' if'n we're lucky, we wun't be able ta count the dead bad guys when we're through with 'em. You just do what yer 'eart tells ya, an' we'll be jus' fine. We ain't all of us dwarves demandin' like yer boss."

Rurik smiles at Sturm, "Ya jus' need ta give 'em time. 'Ad this one apprentice in our forge, coon't unnerstan' a word o' 'im? 'Aff a season with us, e's talkin' an' swearin' like e's BORN there, or somethin'. Patience, I'm sayin'."

OoC:Er...I have ishmael going towards where the Ferals came from, and the dwarves talking about the double doors, which is the other direction...
