(Adventure) The Monestary of Saint Feragon <Judge:Macbeth>

[My understanding: Sturm's back in the charnel house, Rurik was going to follow him and check for survivors, and then go past him to the door in the room, and Ishmael wanted to hang out outside (TOTALLY understandable).

BTW: You didn't hand out XP from our last encounter. Was that the plan?

OoC: I saw it as dpdx posted.
As far as XP, I am not going to pass them out after every single encounter, lest the adventure seem like a video game. However...

XP: 400 each

[I'm not asking you to hand out XP after each encounter, which is why I was asking if you did, Uriel. I just thought that a worg, 2 feral orcs, and 2 feral monks, even 6 ways, might make enough XP to level us up.]

Rurik nudges the corpses that look the most alive, with his axe, and searches/spots [whichever is the appropriate check] for any movement in the pile of corpses.

"I swear on the Chennet' Anok we ain't ferals. If yer want ta make't outa here alive, show yerselves now."

If this tactic doesn't meet with a positive result, Rurik will proceed to each door in the room, and call Aranel over to check it for locks or traps, offering her a Mom's ale-soaked burlap sack, if necessary, to hold over her nose.

OoC:That's fine, no biggie. I usually had it out at fairly regular intervals.
I made a mistake, it's 400 each. Editing now.

IC:Rurik and Sturm move into the room, trying to stay away from most of the worse areas of gore, though getting none on oneself was impossible...
Rurik moves to one door, finding it ajar and opening onto a platform from whence a stone stairwell descended.

Sturm moves to the other door, finding it closed and locked. Rurik moves to this one as well, seeing that it is a stout lock, though Aranel should have no problem with it.

(Actually, Sturm's more interested in the bodies -- basically, if he can find signs that this is serving as the ferals' food supply, he'll suggest using that situation to set up an ambush. What qualifies as indicating that, I don't know -- I don't have a single rank in Survival, but Sturm does :) )

OoC:The evidence suggests that they come here to feed, though there may be other areas similar. Some of the bodies have been fed upon recently, while some look to have been eaten up (mostly) the day before.

Sturm stands from his inspection, nodding.

"Hmph... Right's I 'spected -- it looks'n what's here's a foodstores o' sorts. 'ow's the body count reckon at the total what lives here? If it's most, think it's a chance we can set up ambush 'ere, an' get a good fight from 'em no less... They ain't retreatin' nothin' easy if'n we're 'tween they and their meat. Course, given what number we 'ave that'll play rig in a fight, might 'ave a better choice in huntin' 'em down in little parts at once, 'stead of standoffin'. But we could standoff 'ere if'n it's choosy."

He turns.

"Rurik? What's got 'hind the door? ... Stairs? Any blood or bits on 'em?"

Looking around the room, Kirin says quietly. "You may enjoy the idea of being surrounded by feral beasts, but I can't help but think I would live longer in a hallway with my back against a wall... though my spells are largely depleted for the day, so perhaps thats not a concern."

"I don't like sitting around much either," Aranel said quietly, eyeing the door a long moment.
Telerin looked to Whitefang and then to the Dwarves, "I'd also like to keep moving...though if we need to fall back," he glanced around the room, "We may want to remember the lay of this building..."

Rurik, attempting to respond to the question Sturm asked him, and noticing that Aranel doesn't seem to be in a mood to help, tries one door himself.
