Rurik finds the closest door unlocked, the room on the other side being a small platform, leading down to a lower level (the ground floor you suppose in a spiraling staircase.

"This un's stairs," Rurik says as he closes the door, and walks to the other door. "Goin' down. Lessee 'bout t'other."

Aranel finds no traps on the door (doors,I'll let her retroactively check Door #1). Neither is either door locked.

Rurik finds that the second door opens onto a hallway, this having clear prints in dried blood. Looking closer at the first, the stairs, too, have such prints...

"An' this'un's a hall," Rurik reports from just outside the second doorway. "They both of 'em got tracks. Mebbe survivors, mebbe ferals. But I ain't no ranger. Anyun' else wanna come look at 'em, see what they can tell about 'em?"

"Hmph... Looks'n the mon'stries 'ave been all up'n 'bout everywhere, 'ere."

Sturm will take a good look at the prints, to see what he can discern about their maker, the time that has passed since they were last laid, and for how long they were being made.

OoC:Just waiting on hearing from you all as far as a direction. I willl be unavailable for several hours this afternoon, as I am going to the Doctor so that they can take another look at my ankle.

[Actually, I think we're waiting for some information on these tracks before we decide on a direction, Mr. DM Man. :D

But definitely best of luck on your doctor visit. Moreover, I hope it's Paid For, and not out of your pocket.]

Sir Ishmael waits for news on the other side of bloody room. He remains where he stands, not merely because of the disgust he feels for the scene in the room but also because he wishes to keep vigil over this part of their explorations. Should any evil rear its head in approach, he would give alarm.

For the moment though, he continues to look down the hall and listen for any movement there.

"Doth thou think that any of the monks still live? This grim vision doth quell hope in mine heart" he quietly asks to anyone near him.

Kirin stands nearby with her sickle in one hand. "There may still be some barricaded in an area with only one door... We can hope. I only wish there was some way to bring those turned against their will back to themselves. I feel more pain for them than for those whose suffering is over."
