Kirin sets a hand gently on his arm and says "Talking might at least have us all following in the same direction... If I were a living monk I imagine I would be hiding in the rooms upstairs where I would have been chased... and I personally would rather not have unknown monsters coming from above as well as below. Why not try to clear the place from the top and know when we are done?"

As the Companions discussed which way to go, Sturm stopped, hearing something down below, a drumming sound, steady and deliberate.

Sir Ishmael peers at the stairs below with his darkvision, mindful not to step upon the bloody prints. The halfling muses in silence. He shakes his head and then gives pause to listen what his companions have to say.

Rurik will follow Sturm down the stairs, not wanting anyone in the party to stand alone.

Sturm holds a hand out to stop Rurik, then beckons him closer, but slowly.

"Ye hear that? he whispers when Rurik is close enough. "Drummin'... Wardrums, b'chance. Looks'n down 'ere's where we want'n be. Go an' tell'm..."

He gestures with a thumb back up to the others, then readies his scythe and stands, peering down the stairs ready to catch the first blows of any lucky attack.

"Either they have found us," Telerin commented as he stepped back slightly, pulling up his bow in response to Sturm's words, "Or we have found them. If we have found them...then...there may be many more of them than we would wish to encounter together. A single Feral Ogre is danger enough, with other Ferals we will likely be killed."

Aranel exchanged a look with Telerin before looking towards the stairs that went up, "Maybe we can go up and see if we can hit them from above? Make them come to us?"

"Either they have found us," Telerin commented as he stepped back slightly, pulling up his bow in response to Sturm's words, "Or we have found them. If we have found them...then...there may be many more of them than we would wish to encounter together. A single Feral Ogre is danger enough, with other Ferals we will likely be killed."

Kirin says quietly, "I suggest you stay well out of the way, as you may be our only remaining source of healing... I could perhaps stop one wounded as badly as you were from dying, but I have used up my greater magic for the day, such as it was... Unless there's an area you want searched for secret doors." She smiles in a self deprecating fashion. "I envy these warriors who are happy to jump into one battle after another, but they need to realize our ability to help them recover is not limitless."
