(Adventure) The Monestary of Saint Feragon <Judge:Macbeth>

Sturm sniffs at the air, looking for traces of sweat or beast musk. Either way, he says as lightly as possible:

"If'n ye ain't ready, speak for haltin' now."

He'll hold up three fingers, and count down... If no one interrupts him by that point, he'll kick in the door and see what's on the other side.

The halfling stows away his sledge. He then unwraps the leather sling around his shield arm and takes a bullet from his belt pouch. Readying the sling (but not whirling it, yet) for use, he stands ready behind the two dwarves.

When battle commences, he will cast the bullet toward an enemy not in melee then switch to his sledge.

After mentally reviewing his battle plan, Sir Ishmael girds himself for the combat that seems impending.

"Hold a moment..." Telerin said very quietly, looking to the others then to the door. He drew one of the better arrows and readied it, and moved a little closer to the door.

((Telerin's going to try to look through and see if he CAN see anything...charging in blindly=bad.))

As quiet as possible, Telerin opens the door and peers through.
Beyond, he can hear snuffling noses and then a growl. Then, as if a fight had broke out beyond, the sounds of scuffling beasts...

Rurik also takes a peek through the crack in the door, waraxe and shield at the ready. Using his darkvision, he attempts to see how far beyond the doorway the beasts are.

Rurik can see a litt through the crack...there seem to be three or four beasts in the room beyond, Orcs?Monks? It is hard to tell at this point. they are 40 feet or so away,in a scuffle of some sort.Rurik sees one punch another and then laugh triumphantly, holding up what it had taken from the loser of the fight...a human forearm. With gusto, the Feral bites into his meal, unaware, as they all seem to be, of you.

Rurik smiles, puts away his axe, pulls out his shortbow, and nocks an arrow. Nodding at Sturm, he whispers, "They're in there - feedin', 'bout 40 foot 'way. Reckon when ever'un's ready, we c'n shoot at 'em through the crack 'til they rush the door."

[I just figured he'd reach into the quiver at random. Lessee, 20 normal, 3 at +2. I'll roll d8, and if it comes up 8, it's a +2. Okay, I rolled 4, so it's normal.]

Telerin nodded to Rurik and glanced back to Aranel. He motioned for her to come over and said quietly, "Get your crossbow."
She did so, and as Telerin readied a magical arrow, she readied a bolt for the small crossbow. Telerin looked down to Rurik again, "Ready when you are..."
