[sblock="luinnar and healing"]Serris allowed him to spend a surge. No bonus, but enough to prevent death saves. Serris will spend 2 surges after the combat to heal himself, bringing himself back to full.[/sblock]

Serris looks around the common room. "Start with the Harpy, try not to kill it. I'll be in in a few, after I've cleaned this up a bit." He then walks over to the bartender and starts talking in low tones.

[sblock=ooc]Serris is finding out what position the party has just won themselves in the area, as well as checking with the staff about the previous adventuring party. After he gets a little info, he'll head into the Harpy room.

Raion is travelling off and on this weekend, so just let me know what to roll for Serris' questions, and let everyone know when I rejoin them in the back room so they get the social buffs (+2 diplo and intim within 5 squares). Will be following, and hopefully have time to post, but I'd rather not hold things up if I can't.[/sblock]

[sblock=raion]Working off your passive Insight you can tell that the bartender is pretty scared of you, but that (much like the ogre before you) your authority doesn't stretch much further than the reach of your fist. That's the way things work down here - show that you're tougher than the next guy and you'll get some respect, but only until somebody tougher than you shows up.

When it comes to the last adventuring party, it takes a while to make yourself understood, and when you do, the bartender seems genuinely confused that you would be asking her about them. She does eventually recall the group who were asking about the temple, though - here she looks around in superstitious fear - and that they were in here drinking for a long while.

If you want to roll an active Insight check or try Bluff/Diplomacy/Intimidate/whatever to press for more information then that's up to you.[/sblock]

[sblock=Healing]Current status:
Grys: 39/39 hp, 6/9 surges
Serris: 45/45 hp 9/11 surges
kal'Tarron: 44/44 hp, 5/8 surges
Orsik: 45/45 hp, 6/10 surges

Baracus: 24/52 hp, 10/11 surges
Mythra: 9/38 hp, 7/9 surges

Luinnar and Cleverusername still to declare surges spent during the rest.[/sblock]

[sblock=raion]The barmaid obviously takes a shine to Serris, and seems very willing to help, but she obviously doesn't know that much. She clams up when the subject of the temple is broached, and won't talk about it, though she's apologetic. She stresses that she doesn't know anything about it and that it's better off avoided. Serris really doesn't get the impression that she's hiding anything useful.[/sblock]

"Why don't the rest of you question the Harpy? I'll keep watch over the Ogre. Unless of course, someone wants to help me with that. If the Ogre wakes up, he might not be too intimidated by just me." Grys says. "After you are done with her, you should probably just let her go. There's no watch done here, but who knows what friends she might have who wouldn't take kindly to us throwing her into the forges."

[sblock=ooc]
Mythra will spend three surges.

Mythra: 36/38 hp, 4/9 surges

Mythra is not good at people skills, but he can be good at telling at when people are lying. So he will just watch the questioning :)[/sblock]

[sblock=ooc] kal'Tarron is like Mythra - bad at talking to people, reasonably good at reding them: Insight+8,Perception+11,Religion+13 (might be useful in searching for a temple)[/sblock]

The brawler will stick with Grys with the ogre, figuring the two of them should be enough force to keep him from trying anything funny. He's waiting for Serris to start asking the questions.

[sblock=ooc]
Baracus will use 2 surges to be 50/52

Baracus is moderately intimidating +7 but no good at reading people, but if Serris is there it's +9, which is pretty respectible [/sblock]

Orsik is very good at reading people, not so good at interracting with them.

Orsik holds the harpy in a choke noose (made from rope), just in case she tries anything with her song. He yanks it tout every time she makes noise above subdued conversation. And if she drones...and if she sings...and if she...you get the picture. He uses his 'reading' skills to know when to pull.

Questioning he leaves to those more talented. He simply indicates if she's telling the truth to the questioner.

OOC: Auto success in aid another with Insight for Social Three if possible?
