[Adventure] The Paper Chase (Judge: renau1g)

All my research pointed to the ruins being under here... Martha come out! Mythra opens a pocket in his robes and the white cat appears. Go and see what you can find, he says as the cat and owner wanders off in different directions.

I vote explore the inn more. Mythra and Martha (she has unlimited range) will split up. Not sure what rolls to use, roll for them if you want.[/sblock]

"That sounds like a prudent course of action."

Grys goes where he cannot be observed, gets Keke out, and send him invisible, flying up and around the inn. He will first have him search the entire exterior of the area (windows, small holes, roof if one exists, whatever Keke can find) and then the interior of the inn where Keke can get to. While that is happening, Grys goes back to sitting down at a table with whomever will join him.

Let me know if you want a Perception or any other type of skill check Antithetist.

Also, if we are not yet leaving, Grys will not yet make the comment about the Ogre being stubborn and not giving us any info.

OOC: I may be slow in posting and erratic in schedule for next about six weeks. I'm renovating the house so my workroom becomes child's room and in the workplace it's my turn to babysit tourists on tours (until now I sat at the reception desk). DM, if you want to NPC Orsik, use all powers as you see fit.

In general, destruction is preferred runestate. Heal after someone is bloodied unless there is sound reason to give everyone bonuses to damage or defenses

Daily interrupt if that would drop Orsik.

Vengeful property as possible against controllers, lurkers and other pesky stuff that dies from one good hit on a charge.

After everyone finishes with interrogation, Orsik opens the door to Greshka, letting her out. He then joins his companions summoning the servant with a wave of his hand. Orsik looks for the goblin maid he 'made friends' with to show them the warehouse/basement.

OOC: Greshka in my native language means Error :) - nice one!

Examination of the inn's exterior and of its upper floors proves entirely fruitless, as do Serris's enquiries on the street. There seems to be no evidence that the place is anything more than it appears to be. Only once Orsik prevails upon one of the barmdais to open up the cellar and most of the party proceed down the steps do things start to come into perspective.

At first it appears much as one would expect - a dank, musty cavern hewn out of the rock, filled with racks and shelves containing bottles and casks of all shapes and sizes. The stone floor is treacherously bumpy and potholed, and rodent shapes dart on the edge of the flickering torchlight.

As our heroes poke around, looking for hidden pasageways or tell-tale symbols, they begin to notice patterns in the uneven ridges and planes of the stone underfoot, and eventually the truth dawns on them: they're walking on the foundations - or what remains of them - of a much older building. The ruined temple beneath the inn is evidently more ruined than might have been hoped, and the only danger lurking there now is the very real threat of a sprained ankle if one was to stumble incautiously around the cellar.

One down, one to go...

"It seems like the temple might have been an entire temple complex. Parts of it might be under every building in this area. We probably should go to the spire portion of it to see if we can find anything there." Grys comments.

Serris grins, "Turns out we're right, if you go back far enough.. Let's get out of here." With that he turns around and heads up through the bar.

OOC: heh, I was useful :)

"Lead on, Serris. Don't worry Mythra, we'll set it right. Saving the world in small steps, eh? Ensuring next group of world savers have correct information. Assuming, of course, we return from this delve."

[sblock=OOC]Things are pretty busy with me at the moment, and will be until at least the beginning of next week. I'm going to try to check in when I can, and I'm hoping to get a proper post up tomorrow, but I just wanted to give you all a heads-up that my posting might be slack for a few days.[/sblock]
