[sblock=silent types]I often choose not to post when I don't have anything to say, because I often play shy or quiet characters. I haven't posted in response to the above, because I want to see where this is going. I'm still paying attention.[/sblock]

Skalisss enters the study and looks first at the books and papers that are open and have been read recently.

"Like in the city Library there may be sssomething left out that presentsss itssself quickly. Otherwissse we ssshould make a quick sssearch of thisss room and move on" recommends Skalisss.

Skaliss notices that the desk is not covered in the same layer of dust that the rest of the room is. He also sees that that the locked drawer of said desk has a number of scratches around the keyhole, as though someone were trying to force entry.

"Look here," notes Skalisss, "only the desk hasss been recently usssed. And sssomeone hasss attempted to gain entry to the desssk."

Skalisss goes through all of the effects on the desk one by one looking for clues relevant to the runes of power or the possible location of the Master. He then checks the desk to see if it was successfully opened.

The drawer is still locked, so it seems unlikely that whoever was trying to force it open was successful.

Growl notices something peculiar on one of the bookshelves. Most of the books are on the subjects of history and archeology, and are showing heavy signs of age. But between two such tomes there is a small, pristine book of poetry. There's something strange about the way it's positioned in the bookcase. It looks like it's bulging outward in the center.

A small, tarnished key falls out from between the pages. When you use it in the desk, the drawer unlocks. Inside you find papers requesting that the professor excavate an old shrine from the early days of Daunton and study the relics found therein. The papers, which promise him a considerable amount of funding, are signed by Ambassador Glasston and dated four months ago.
