[Adventure] The Second Day of Mourning (Judge: renau1g)

[sblock=End of Round 2]

[sblock=Kinions attack + Garricks' free Hammer and Anvil]

Kinion's Curse of the Dark Dream misses it's target (which is unfortunate because it would have dealt a ton of damage). This means that Kinion does NOT slide his target 3 squares, however, until the Messenger saves against this spell, Kinion can sustain this power as a minor action to slide the Messenger 1 square starting on his next turn.

Garrick's free attack from Hammer and Anvil hits for 19 damage!

[/sblock] [/sblock]

KILL THE MESSENGER, ROUND 3!

Feeling surrounded, the Messenger emits that high-pitched squeal once more and a blinding flash takes away Lo-Kag's vision, his eyes burning. Spinning around in quick rotation, it whips out with tentacles covered in dark energy that only seem to find Grryth in their path, leaving a dark stain on his chest. It flies across the room and lands, waving tentacles at you tauntingly.

[sblock=OOC]

Messenger's Turn: (Blinding Flash recharges, Mourning Tentacle fails.)
- Standard Action: Uses Blinding Flash on Lo-Kag, Grryth, Garrick, and Alexia. This hits Lo-Kag for 3 damage and blinds him. It misses everyone else. [/url]

- Action Point: Standard Action: Messenger uses Dark Whirlwind, which allows him to Fly 8 squares and make 3 attacks at any point of the flight. He does not provoke Opportunity Attacks from those he attacks. He hits
Grryth for 7 damage (missing both Garrick and Gurdan (you can thank your second wind right about now...)) and moves from D4 > D5 > E6 >>>> I6 > J7 > J8.

- Move: Moves from J8 > K9 > K10 > K11

The Messenger saves against Curse of the Dark Dream. (Sorry Kinion... looks like IC is not liking you right now...)

Resources Used:
Messenger: Blinding Flash (r. 5), Mourning Tentacle (r. 6)., Dark Whirlwind (r. 5)
Alexia: Second Wind, Inspiring Refrain.
Gurdan: Second Wind, Hungry Earth, Cloak of Resistance (daily)
Lo-Kag: Hammer and Anvil, Sacrificial Weapon Power (daily)
Kinion: Witchfire, Otherwind Stride, Curse of the Dark Dream (daily)
Garrick: Otherwind Stride
Grryth: ?? (I'm not sure what you've used... nothing so far this battle, did you use anything at Gurdis's house against Salesman's crew?)

Alexia: 23/43 - Bloodied
Garrick: 0/40
Grryth: 25/52
Gurdan: 9/57 - Gains +8 AC, +4 F/R/W until Start of his next turn.
Lo-Kag: 10/45 - Blinded until the End of Messengers' next turn.
Kinion: 0/39

Messenger has taken 75 points of damage.

[sblock=ooc]Isn't it in K11? The map and the actions disagree.[/sblock]

Alexia gasps for breath as she's released from the hold. She takes a moment to gather herself, abrasions and bruises healing at a supernatural rate. Then Alexia walks forward and focuses her attention on the messenger, attempting to weave a hex around it. Its unfamiliar constitution prevents the attack from being as harmful as it could have been, but part of the curse takes hold nonetheless.

[sblock=Round 3 Actions]Well, my cunning plan is "ruined" since I'm no longer grabbed, but since my cunning plan was to escape the grab with Majestic Word's slide, it balances out.

Standard: "Hits" Will 11 for 10 psychic damage. I can't really bring myself to care, though. What's important is that from now until the end of the encounter, any ally who hits the messenger heals 4 damage.
Move: Move to J6, assuming the messenger is in K11. Otherwise, H5.
Minor: Majestic Word on myself, healing 14 hp.

Got a 23 on my Arcana.[/sblock]

Lo-Kag roars "My eyes!!!!...". Coming to his senses he then says in a calm determined voice. "I have other senses to track you fowl beast." After a few deep breaths, he feels revived phsyically, although his sight is not restored. He boldly moves southeast to a point where he thinks the beast is located, then shoots for a blast of acid....

[sblock=actions]
standard action: second wind: 12 hp...bringing Lo-Kag to full strength (only needing 10)

movement: five squares SE to J8 (assuming that the foe is at k11)

minor: breath weapon attack (close blast 3 towards k11): 1d20+7-5 vs reflex = 19 for 1d6+1 = 5 hp damage

save vs blindness: 16 I rolled this just in case the blindness effect is on-going. I don't think that is the case though, right? Lo-Kag regains his vision after the end of the foe's next turn.

[/sblock]

Lo-Kag guesses right with his aim as he hears the sound of sizziling flesh and a groan from the messenger. Lo-Kag smiles at the sounds of pain coming forth from his enemy.

[sblock=crit last round]
I know that this is a little late, but can I get the 2d6 extra damage for my crit added on. I noticed this when updating my stat block. I understand though if it is too late.

thanks for the info renau1g. That's even better. Add a plus five to my attack roll then. Instead rolled a 24 instead of a 19. :)

"What? The thing flies? Argh...." Gurdan hustles across the floor, dragging his warhammer on the floor in frustration (Move to I10), and makes another mighty swing, his arm once again stretching to ridiculous length in an attempt to pull the creature away from the wall (Thorn strike hits AC 22 for 21 damage and pulls the creature to J10 and Gurdan heals 4 - Gurdan marks beast as free action).

[sblock=OOC]
Alexia: Yes, my map was wrong, sorry. The Messenger was at K11.

Lo-Kag: Yes, concealment doesn't matter with close/area attacks because the effect will physically be in the area regardless of if you can see it or not. Kind of like dumping the pacific ocean blindly somewhere on the United States while blindfolded. Some states are just not going to be out of the area of effect (land floods, save ends =P) even if you can't see it. Also, please roll your additional crit damage. Sorry I didn't catch it either!

Gurdan: That's just sick...21 damage with an at-will attack... what are you a striker!? That's the power of Crushing Earthstrength baby! So yeah... second wind is definitely your best friend... 30 AC, +4 Fort/Ref/Will, and striker damage... yeah. Anywho... you have bloodied that bad boy...nicely done!

Kinion: Make sure that you remember to curse your enemies. You gain a +1d6 damage (once per round) whenever you hit a cursed enemy.

You guys aren't going to let my Messenger last another 2 rounds... are you? Ah well... Looks like I'm just going to have to start making these fights harder lol. You guys work together too well!

Just waiting on Grryth and Garrick and we can see if I can actually do anything against you guys, lol. Also, the updated map is below... sorry for the bad placement earlier.

"Grraaaww, stop yer runnin and fight" Grryth roars as the messanger scurries away.

Grryth spins on his heel and takes off after it.
Darting around Alexia, Grryth positions himself between her and the mechanical monstrosity and takes a swing at it.

[sblock=Mechanics]
Move Action = move from E5 to J9
Minor Action = Hunter Quarry on the messanger
Standard Action = Crushing Surge; Attack vs Messanger (1d20+10=15) Damage if a 15 hits.. (1d6+7+1d6=19)
[/sblock]

[sblock=OOC]
Grryths Hit point total shoud be 2 higher, as I had gained 2 temp hit points from the crushing surge attak last round...not that it matters - I want to get bloodied so I can use his shifter power...
