Lo-kag rushes to a position to attack. "Let's put an end to the beast." He thrust his sword upwards, but the tenacles get in the way.

[sblock=actions]

attack: bloody ending: 1d20+11=18, since that wasn't a hit in a previous attack I'll not roll the damage.

Grryth takes a swipe at the creature as it flies by, but misses.
[sblock=Mechanics]
Opportunity Attack = 1d20+10=16, 1d6+7=8, attack should be 18 - forgot about +2 fighter bonus, but still a miss I belive.
[/sblock]

As the pian builds in his body Grryth lets loose a feirce growl and with that his body twitches and his muscles bulge as he takes on a feirce visage. He quickly takes two steps and slams his axe into the creature, releasing yet another animalistic roar.

Garrick moves to I-12, taking advantage of the flanking position he gains and strikes towards the amazingly tough creature.

With a loud curse, he swings his double sword in a complex pattern, hitting the monster square on the underbelly.

Eldritch Strike: 30 vs AC, 16 Damage.

What a tough bastard! Keep on striking! If it bleeds ... it dies!

[Sblock=OOC Party] Remember to let me know if you need the messenger moved around ... I can slide whatever I hit 3 squares ... everytime :D [/sblock]

Round 5

Lo-Kag moves into position and swings his sword at the Messenger, but hits nothing but air as it floats itself a little higher than his reach. Grryth takes this opportunity to flank the creature, but is rewarded with a severe slap to the face that leaves a rising welt along his jawline. Gryyth pays the messenger back two-fold however and slams his axe into the creature making oil and other black substances ooze out. Garrick moves in for the kill and gouges a large rut into the underside of the messenger and the light in it's main eye begins to dim. Knowing it's only chance to escape is to incapacitate as many of his enemies as it can, the messenger once again flashes its main eye with a white hot brilliance. Gurdan takes it like a man, quickly blinking away the afterimages, but Lo-Kag, Grryth, and Garrick feel the light sear their retinas and the world goes dark.

[sblock=ooc]
- Free Action when Grryth moves next to the Messenger: CRITS Grryth for 11 damage.
- Recharge Rolls: Blinding Flash and Dark Whirlwind recharge, but Mourning Tentacle does not.
- Move Action: Shift to H12
- Standard Action: Blinding Flash vs. Lo-Kag, Gurdan, Grryth, and Garrick's Fort. This hits Lo-Kag, Grryth, and Garrick for 3 radiant damage and blinds them until the end of the messengers next turn. Gurdan is unaffected.

The Messenger has taken 189 damage.
Kinion has taken 0 damage
Alexia has taken 9 damage
Lo-Kag has taken 3 damage
Gurdan has taken 20 damage
Grryth has taken 28 damage
Garrick has taken 0 damage

Dang... you guys are gooood! I'm going to have to step up my game!

[SBLOCK=OOC clarification]
Just a bit of a correction / clarification. Right now, after the messangers turn, Grryth is sitting at 9 HP remaining and has 5 Temp HP. He will regain 2 hit points at the begining of his nest turn due to his shifting.
He took a bunch of damage in the first fight and has yet to heal up.
Just thought I'd give a heads up.
[/sblock]

[sblock=Grryth] Actually, regenerating hit points are applied at the END of your turn, not the beginning. Ongoing damage is applied at the beginning, which means that regen can bring you back from the dying category on your own turn if you go down from ongoing damage ^_^ The damage Grryth took from the free slap should have eliminated the temp HP he had, which then would have allowed his attack to give him the 2 temp HPs. With all of that in mind... how many HPs does Grryth currently have? [/sblock]

[sblock=updated hit points]
OK math is working now.
Current hit points 16, with 0 temp hit points.

"Not again!...Curse you foul beast!" Binded, but not out by any means, Lo-Kag jabs his weapon at where he thinks the beast is located. All he hits is air. "Aggghhh...I hope others have better luck hitting this thing the I do." Turing to his right he yells towards Grryth. "You took damage from this thing. I didn't see it, but I heard it. Feel the strength of my words. Come now and rip off a couple tenacles from this fiend!"

[sblock=actions]
Movement: none
Attack: basic attack with melee weapon: 1d20+11-5=12
Minor: Inspiring Word on Grryth: healing surge plus 1d6+3 = 7.
