(Adventure) To Delmon's Aid (Creamsteak Judging)

Thurgan was amazed at the trravel by the use of the arcane steeds. He surmised that the arcane variety weren't as evil as the fully living type.

Velbrik nods. "I have a rope and grappling hook. The front door may not necessarily be safe; our companions may not have chosen to enter through that way, just as we are considering not to."

"Any tracks in the area? Not that there would be w' the rain an' all, but ya never know . . ." Thurgan asked. "Other wise s'pose the hook should work."

"Good idea." Troi says, getting off his horse. "Lemme check."

He then proceeds to carefully and cautiously look for tracks.

OoC:Arken and WhatKu, as I mentioned before, edit your earlier posts to reflect Cantrips/Orisons memorized as well...unless you are Bards/Sorcerers and I just didn't notice...
I'm not sure who is going with Troi, but...

IC: Moving forward, using all available cover (though there isn't any of note close to the Monestary walls...), Troi (and whoever) sprint forward to have a look at the ground around the Gate.

There is no sign of anyone on the walls (15'20' tall, with the front facing being the taller of the two) or in the surrounding area of the monestary. Off to one side is a small field where wheat is just starting to sprout, though it looks as if the little plants will see little sunlight, as the clouds and drizzle of The Storm continue as they have for most of the week.
Troi can make out no discernable tracks, other than light ones mad muddy by the rain, these not being obviously made either this morning or by his Companions. Troi (and whoever) does notice several areas of the wall where there are gouges out of the plaster, as if someone or something leaped up, catching itself about halfway up and then scrambled over the walls. It takes little to imagine just what sort of creature would be able to do so...

Having searched the area, Troi returns to where the others are.

"Orcs, feral ones." Troi says, pointing out the marks on the walls. "At least, that's what I'm thinkin'."

He takes out his grappling hook and rope. "Do we wanna go over, or should we go through th' door?" He asks. "Might be a good idea ta have some go in th' door and some go over th' wall, y'know, surprise 'em, 'n whatnot, if there's anythin' hostile on th' other side."

Nodding, Velbrik removes the rope and grappling hook from his backpack. He tosses it up at the walls, trying a few times before finally catching it on something.

"I'll take a look from the walls," Velbrik says. "So we can get a better idea of what we're dealing with, at least. I'll be careful, but I doubt I'll have much trouble for now."

Having said this, Velbrik jerks at his rope several times, to make sure that it's secure, and when it fails to become dislodged, he begins ascending the rope to the top of the walls.

Once he gets there (assuming he gets here), Velbrik moves along the walls a few feet and scans the grounds area, looking for any sign of activity. As he does, Velbrik keeps his head down.

Cantrips today are: Message, Disrupt Undead and Detect Magic

Felix follows the others down to the wall and whislt they attempt to scale it will spend a litle time checking for any secret doors that might be in the brickwork.

"You never know...most palces have bolt holes in them somewhere...."

Throwing and setting their Grapnel lines, Troi and Velbrik make the short clim over the wall on either side of the Gate, as Felix Searches about for Secret Doors (not finding any as of yet)...

OoC:Anyone else?

"Goin' on our own isn't a good idea, ramember?" Troi asks Velbrik as the bard gets out his grappling hook. "I'll come on up with ya."

Troi then mimics Velbrik, tossing his grappling hook up onto the walls, and climbing up (assuming he successfully got it to hold) a few moments after the bard begins ascending.

Once up, Troi also ducks his head down, and scans the inside of the monastery for anything moving and/or anything that looks possibly hostile.
