Nodding, Thale streches his legs a little. "Well, lets go now while the coast is clear. "

"I'm fer that, too," Thurgan added. He looked around trying to spot anywhere someone could note their approach. He'll look for any threats and be ready to deal with them with his crossbow.

Descending down the carved steps that sit just the other side of the wall (leading into the courtyard), the Companions reach the ground level.

making your way across the interveining grass yard, you reach the open door without incident.

As they reach the door Felix turns to them and whispers...

"It occurs to me that if the others, let us hope against hope, made it here safely then we have more to fear from what will enter behind us than what we may encounter infront, keep a watch on your back or we might be in for a nasty surprise"

Gathered at the Door, checking for signs of your companions (and noticing that there is much more blood upon the lawn than you first thought).
There seem to be none, though there was obviously some struggle here on the lawns.

Felix hears something behind you all, and Thale turns as well, hearing a distinct sound.
Suddenly a form bursts out of the door < M-10>, followed by another and a third.
There are three forms moving towards you, two dressed in the habits of Monks, though they are far from members of the race of Man.
Pale green robes hang from their forms, torn and raggedm showing cuts and other wounds beneath. With the two Monks runs a massive Orc, a wicked falchion in his hand. All three are bolting right for you.

OoC: Enemies in squares M-11 and M-12 at the onset of Initiatives.

Troi - Init: 19; AC: 18; HP: 14/14; Atk: Longsword +3 (1d8+1)

Troi is taken aback by the sudden appearance of the monks and orc. After a small moment, though, he draws his longsword and charges at the nearest of the trio.

Drawing longsword, charging (these are AC and attack after applying charge bonuses/penalties): AC 16, Longsword +5 (1d8+1).

Velbrik - Init 12; AC 16; HP 12/12; Atk: Longsword +3 (1d8+3, 19-20/x2)

Velbrik draws his longsword and charges the nearest creature.

Felix tries to fall behind Troi and the others as he prepares his bow and fires it at the closest figure.

(Longbow 1d8, +3 to hit from Dex and possibly another one from the bless spell)

The above was for the suprise round. This is for the first full round
After finishing off his spell, Thale throws caution to the wind and charges the nearest creature and attempts to chop off its legs.

17 AC, +6 to attack, 1d8+2 damage
