(Adventure) To Delmon's Aid (Creamsteak Judging)

Troi turns to look at Thale. "What th'... what is wrong with ya? 'Course we're gonna stay here an' check out th' place. Gotta make sure all th' critters are dead, fer one, an' th' others might not be dead. We're not leavin' 'til we check this whole place out."

Troi looks at each of the doors from a safe distance, trying to find out which ones are open and also looking for signs of passage... he also checks the debris, primarily the ashes, and looks for footprints or anything else indicating recent movement. He does all this carefully and cautiously, trying to disturb things as little as possible.

Spreading out and searching, you find that the leftmost door is locked from the other side. The door with the ashes just inside is unlcked (indeed, the door seems to have been forced from the other side, thus breaking the lock and damaging the door as well).
the remaining door is unlocked and has claw marks upon it, light ones, as if someone were fumbling at the handle to open it.

The ashes seem to have been created by chairs and a table, perhaps with some clothing items thrown in as well. Troi's suspicion is that whoever was in here created the fire to keep something at bay on the other side while they attempted an escape perhaps. The blood and gore suggest that they(some, at least) did not get very far away...

Felix looks at Thale in a semi perplexed manner.

"While I think I agree with the thrust of your argument and know I could not leave whilst knowing our companions may be alive. Hopefully we shall find them in health however and your pessimism will have been a little early"

Felix looks around him and his shoulders sag...

"However bad it looks now..."

"I suggest that we remember the locked door but I think whoever locked it did so for a purpose I would not wish to open one of the only places that our friends or the monks here found that was defensible, Let's take one of the other doors and then double back. How about the door opposite..?"

ooc/ Are we supposed to meet up with the other party? If so then good luck with that Uriel as it seems like a logistical nightmare ;)/ooc

Thurgan listened to the exchange and grunted. When Velbrik was done, Thurgan said to Thale, "I got this wand 'o healing . . . that should help if things get dire. Prolly best if you carried it fer now, 'casue you can make it work better 'n me."

OOC: Wand of CLW has 25 charges remaining.

OoC: As far as meeting up with the other group goes, that is not my absolute plan, no.It is a possibility, although I'm not saying if you folks are even on the same page, timewise...you could have entered befiore them, even. As far as running 11 PbP PCs, that;s not a problem, as my last RL Campaign had 8PCs and 3 NPCs ansd ran without a hitch (and that was with 8 People all yammering at once, at least you folks all post seperately).

Just waiting on hearing from you all as far as a direction. I willl be unavailable for several hours this afternoon, as I am going to the Doctor so that they can take another look at my ankle.

"Hmm..." Troi says, looking at all the doors. "Lemme think... that one." He points to the door with ashes in front of it. "It's kinda stuck... I'm thinkin' that it was prolly recent. Th' locked door, like Felix said, we should leave alone... so we'll head down th' ash door, an' see what we see."

With that, he heads for that door, listens for a moment for anything moving on the other side, then opens it.

Felix smooths over some of the dust on the floor in front of the other doorways using his cloak so that on coming back the party can have some idea of wheter there ahs been activity in the room then follows after Troi.

OoC:Going with troi's direction, as nobody else has countered...

IC: Troi puts ear to door and hears naught on the other side. Opening the door, with the others at the ready just behind, Troi sees little in the next chamber, which seems to be a hallway of some length. Thurgan moves up and sees more, his inate dwarven Darkvision serving him well. There are a few weapons lying on the ground near this door, a battle axe, a short sword, a crossbow with a broken string. The severed head of a Feral lies near, an Orc.
(Someone) moves up with a torch and lights a few of the torches set in the sconces on the walls, showing that you stand at one end of a long hallway set with several doors on either side, as well as a set of double doors some seventy or eighty feet away.

Thale listens at the first door on his left. If nothing is there he opens it. If something is there, he tells the others as much.

Thale notices that the door seems to be locked from this side. In fact, there is a wedge of some sort drive under the door as well. Listening, he hears movement within as if something is pacing ,then it stops, becoming very still indeed...
