"Alright, let's be careful now, y'know?" Troi says quietly, holding his whip at the ready and leading the way, following the child's directions.

Troi, Felix and Thurgan set off, having a little map that the child scribbled with a quill and the back of one of Velbrik's pieces of sheet music. The map shows a simple layout. The Foyer empties into a hallway running West to East, with several doors along it's length. Past the Kitchen (on the North side of the hallway) lies the easiest path to the stairs up. Once there, it is an easy task to find the attic trapdoor, as it sits along the hall where the bedrooms are. The child actually produced quite a good rendition for one his age.
Zoe,Rinaldo and Velbrik remain behind with the child.
<Folks, are you fortifying the room or doing anything else?>
The searchers
You reach the hallway past the Foyer, with Thurgan looking first, his form flush against the wall. There are no signs of any Orcs in the Hallway.
<Right on to the door leading to the kitchens and the upstairs? >

Velbrik starts dragging furniture around. "I'm going to barricade the doors. If you return, signal by tapping twice on the door, pause, and then three more times. We'll know it's you and open it."
After he's done and the three have left, Velbrik turns to the child and says, "Now, I've promised you a story. What would you like me to tell you about? Kings? Beggars? Nobles? Dragons? Merchants?"
[OOC: Barricading the game room where we found the child in; also, Velbrik doesn't sing or play an instrument, having no musical talent, but does have a bunch of paper with him, so there's no problem there besides semantics.]

Troi nods to himself as he sees that the way is clear. He puts his index and middle fingers to his chest, then points to Thurgan, then points to Felix.
He then proceeds, whip at the ready, into the hallway, slowly and silently creeping along...

Thurgan used his darkvision as best he could, scouting the areas ahead and the areas they passed through. If someone had told Thurgan a week ago that he would be skulking around a mansion with no job, and only the possessions on his back, Thurgan would have had the person committed - yet here he was.

Moving forward the trio heads down the hallway, the room that the child indicated would lead to the Stairs upwards was a mere 20 feet ahead.
The hallway is filled with the signs of carnage. Blood is splattered on walls, floor and even what is obviously arterial spray upon the ceiling.
Reaching the door, the trio finds it closed.

Troi grimaces at the carnage, though says nothing.
Upon finding the door closed, he backs off a dozen feet or so. He points to Thurgan, then to the door. He makes a twisting motion with his hand, then shrugs and shakes his head, points towards the door then back to where he is standing, then indicates himself, then points to the door, then makes as to slowly open a door.
OoC: Hope you two can understand what I'm trying to say.
