(Adventure) Trek to the Vinyard...

OoC: Thurgan saw them in the flash of Lightning some 100' away.
When he next sees them, they will be 60' away, with darkvision. The rest of the Darvision-less folk have about 40 foot visibility in te current twilight/rain combination. I hope that clears everything up.
Thrgan gets a shot off at 60', then we go to initiatives...

Thurgan's bolt flies wild in the rain, missing any of the advancing targets.

The forms become visible to all at 40', where Rinaldo throws a Dagger, the blade tumbling end-over-end to find it's mark in the arm of the lead target <4HP>. The enemy hit falters not a step as it Charges on.

The assailants are a shocking lot. Orcs? If Orcs they be, then Orcs changed somehow. Elongated Jaws and 2 inch talons extended in Hatred from their massive arms, ready to tear you all limb from limb...

Felix is able to Strike the Sunrod as he dismounts, casting it to the ground. The creatures seem unhurt, though a bit confused by the sudden light.

The Orcs act

Charging in, the bestial Orcs attack.

The one wounded leaps for Rinaldo, missing him and flying past, right over the horse <Kung-Fu-Style) Rinaldo takes this opportunity to stab at him again <AofOp on attempted Grapple, hit, 4 points damage>. The orc grunts briefly and hits the mud, not moving.

One Orc attacks Velbrik (now dismounted), it's wicked Claws missing him entirely.

An Orc attacks Thurgan, missing as well.

An Orc attacks Troi's horse, tearing the poor thing's belly <8HP> giving troi a shot at it's unprotected back <AofOp,5 HP damage, it is still up> while another Orc leaps upon Troi, though he manages to elude it's grasping claws.

The last Orc <There were in fact only 6> attacks Zoe, it's Claws missing the paladin's armored body, scraping along her torso...Thurgar makes it pay, <AofOp, yes I know it goes first, but I'm being cinematic...scratching up Zoe's armor :D) runnign this Orc through <4HP>, though it fails to Die...

Troi 9
Velbrik 8
Thurgan 5
Zoe 2

On my turn...

Velbrik takes a five-foot step to the southwest (by the map, to the right) to give Felix a clear line of fire, then feints (improved feint feat as a move action; bluff (+6)) at the orc-thing before slashing in with his longsword (+2 attack, 1d8+2 19-20/x2).

Trying to keep her horse under control, Zoe strikes at the Orc that attacked her, channeling Hyrag's energy into the blow. "By Hyrag, die!"

OOC: Smite Evil on the closest 'Orc'.

When it will be back to me, I'll try to move the horse so Troi's Orc will be in sandwich. While I manoever, I unsheet my short sword to be able to attack one of the orc.

OoC: Judging from the damage I dealt, I'm assuming I'm using my rapier? Sorry about not posting, I don't have consistent access to a computer with net access and a keyboard.

"Damn!" Troi cries as the 'orc' attacks his horse. "Back off, ya piece a crap!" He slashes at it with his rapier.

Attacking the orc that damaged the horse.

Attacking the orc that damaged the horse.

On his next turn Felix will ready his bow then shoot at the orc fighting Velbrik. (+3 to attack though probably with some negative modifiers, 1d8, X3) Failing the survival of that creature he will instead shoot at the neareat of the orcs fighting Troi.

Troi misses the orc, his horse whinying in fright <Ride check successful to stay on>

Velbrik uses his superior fighting skills to draw his opponant off, then stab him <5HP,still up>, though it fails to kill him.

Thurgan hastily stabs at his assailant, connecting with a solid puncture <7 HP>. His foe slams limply into him, then to the ground, dead...

Zoe Smites the Orc in front of her, hitting it mightily, her blow Infused with Holy Fury <10HP>. The Orc expires in a hiss of blood and viscera falling to the ground, it's guts spilled in Hyrag's name.

Rinaldo, though his horse is panicky at the smell of these Things, manages to move his horse closer as he unsheathes his short sword.

Felix manages to put an arrow through the neck of the Orc fighting Velbrik, killing it.

The only remaining Orcs
are the two on Troi...

One Orc claws at the Ranger, missing Troi's face by inches with it's black taloned hands.

The second leaps for Rinaldo, opening itself up to Troi <AofOp,4HP>, taking a cut as it does so, though it still lives.

Troi manages to deal his Orc a severe blow, taking it through the eye with his blade <7HP,dead>.

<Speeding things to their obvious conclusion here...>

Rinaldo runs the final Orc through with a satisfied squelch, taking it through the neck with his sword<6HP,Dead>.

All is quiet save the increasing patter of rain and the long-off sound of an Owl in a tree, knowing itself much more wise than 6 intrepid adventurers who are standing about in the rain...

"Calm down! say Rinaldo to his horse, the fight over. Wow! I bring two of these down, not bad.

After calming his horse, he dismount it and walk to the first Orc he have killed. He takes his dagger from the corpse arm.

"Yuk! I think this dagger will never serves again as my food knife."

He starts to stab the ground with the dagger to clean the blade.

"It is the first time I have seen such creature. I've already trade with some half-orc, but Orcs! They are uglier than I have ever imagined. And thinking about it, Orcs weren't in the list of creatures we could meet. Bandits, ogre, wolf or werewolf. That was more than enough, but now we must add Orcs, and they may not be alone... if they are not, we should check fastly the estate, maybe the people living here are in danger."

Looking at the dead creatures, these look like no orcs that Thurgan,Troi or Zoe have ever seen <I determioned that these PCs have at least seen Orcs>...

The Orc's jaws are larger than normal as well as having 2" long black talons. Each Orc wears little in the way of armor, and little in the way of clothes as well.
