Valahad gasps as the wind is knocked from him. He snaps the bolts in two as he stands up. His shining silver blade reflects the light. The kalashtar charges the blade-wielder looking for a gap in his defensive stance. He easily finds it, as the blade is buried in the man's leg. "Odds are not so good now," he says in the mind of his opponent.

River get out of his hiding and move over Valahad to shield him from further attack. "Why have you open fire? We have come in peace. We are here to talk. Blood will only call more blood. Violence only call for violence. Do you really want that someday, forces stronger than you come on you because they see you as a threat. They will have no mercy on you if it comes to that."

"They won't listen, friends." finish River with a desperate tone in his voice, as River sees the grins and chuckles from the patrol at his words.

Feall takes a split second to assess the patrol's reaction to River's words, then acts quickly so as not to lose the element of surprise.

He flicks a shroud over the closer of the two archers, then winks out of sight. As he reappears he flings out an arm, the shadows already coalescing around his fingers. The dark rope they form settles over the archers head . . . Feall yanks hard on his end, and the man stumbles closer.

The drow then recalls the rope and wraps it's shadows around himself.

I put you in J11 rahter than I11 as that would've drawn an OA from H2 if you were there[/sblock]

Sheeva heads over through the trees, bringing up her darkness around her. "Yes, it does look like we have some fresh meat." Sheeva replies to the cultists. Unfortunately, her aim is not as good as her wit.

Valahad gasps as the wind is knocked from him. He snaps the bolts in two as he stands up. His shining silver blade reflects the light. The kalashtar charges the blade-wielder looking for a gap in his defensive stance. He easily finds it, as the blade is buried in the man's leg. The bonuses from Virtuous Strike only last TSNT not TENT. Just realized that with Vok [/sblock]

"Odds still ain't good for you kalashter, there's five of us and only four of you." the injured swordsmen taunts back, as he slashes his blade past the paladin's defenses and scores another blow.

The other sword-wielding man laughs as well at Sheeva's attack, slashes her with his blade, and jokes "Don't worry hun, if you give up now, I'll be real gentle-like with you " a lavicious grin on his face as his eyes dance up and down her frame.

The bowman stranged by Feall steps back and fires at the pair drow in rapid succession. The bolts slam into the duo and the force of the bolts slamming into them leave the drow's heads swimming and make it difficult to concentrate.

The tiefling smiles as his allies lay into the heroes, his arms remained crossed as he smugly looks on, "Do not worry, Khyber will determine your punishment you fools" he cackles.

Sheeva uses Storm Soul on the first hit. That increases her defenses by 4 and hence, her AC to 21. +5 for Total Concealment from Cloud of Darkness gives her an AC of 26 and the first attack at 25 misses.

So, she has 24/43 hit points, is not bloodied, and is probably not marked.

She still gets hit by the second attack.

[sblock=Magic Item Dailies]
In light of the upcoming errata to magic items about to take place, I'll allow access to your daily item powers.

"Magic Item Usage
Before we bring this discussion to a close, it’s worth mentioning that the limits on using daily magic item powers are no longer part of the game. They existed to prevent the characters from stockpiling items that were far below their level but still had useful, daily powers. Under this scheme, such items are uncommon. Stockpiling a number of them is impossible without house rules or a Dungeon Master who willingly awards multiple copies of such items as treasure. With our new rarity scheme in place, we no longer need such rules." [/sblock]

River move into cover behind the boulder but keep all his allies within sight. If he want to make it a battle a faith thinks River. Please Arawai, protect my allies from Khyber influence. You help is more needed than ever.

[SBLOCK=OOC]Move: Walk to H13
Standard: Healer's Mercy (1d6+10=15)

Valahad and Faell can spend an healing surge and recover an extra 15 hp. They can also make a saving throw. River is weakened.

Sadly Sheeva prevent herself from a saving throw because she used her Storm Soul power.[/SBLOCK]

Feall shifts his focus to the other archer in an attempt to capitalize on his friend's abilities. He drops a shroud on the man to create a link and winks to a different position on the field. Gathers the shadows that had been hiding him from view, he forms them again into a rope and once more draws his opponent in. The archer screams as the coruscating dark rope tightens around his neck.

[sblock=Actions]Healing Surge (24 HP restored)
Free: Assassin's Shroud on A1
Move: Shadow Step to G11
Standard: Executioner's Noose vs. (A1)
To Hit vs. Fort (1d20+9=28) for (1d6+11+1d6.minroll(2)=15) Damage, pull (A1) to G8 & he's Slowed TEMNT.

(r1g - Shadow Step has to end adjacent to a living creature, so Feall will have to take the AoO, and should have one from last time as well).[/sblock]

Thunder resounds amongst the enemy, pummeling some of them. The darkness fades and Sheeva is nowhere to be seen by the cultists. But the thunder remains.

[sblock=OOC]
renau1g,

You did not state whether Sheeva had to use her Lucky Charm for this post. Since it is a trigger, if she did not have to use it, she could not have used it. At the moment, I'm assuming that she still did not use it.

[sblock=Actions]
Action Point: Howling Tempest at G8, covers squares F7 through H9, vs. A1, A2, and H1 in that order.
Standard Action: Move to M12
Cloud of Darkness fades

Howling Tempest on A1 27, A2 25, and H1 19 vs. Fort, 18 damage; save vs. Daze 6 misses

Howling Tempest does 5 damage to anyone that starts their turn in its area. It also deafens anyone hit with it (save ends).

Note: Although the cultists should not be able to see Sheeva, River still can.

Also, you did not put an area indicator on the map for the Cloud of Darkness. Please do so for the Howling Tempest since nobody will want to end their move in it. Thanks.

[sblock=Before arriving on the scene]

Every courier station is the same, but for a real bureaucrat, with years of experience wading through red tape, they just aren't similar enough... Pok moved along the stations windows, collecting forms, the duplicates of those forms, and in most cases triplicate and quadruplicate of those forms, in one special case the gnome filled a form out in septuplicate.

Each form was lovingly coughed and sneezed at, signed by witnesses, denied, huffed over, and in the end notarized by two separate notaries, one with at least 5 years experience. Pok remembered with vivid clarity why he loved solitary stealth missions.

The short sivis wizard waited for his correspondence from wherever it came, collecting letters from his family, house, and employers. Reading and responding only to those most important to his current missions, he tucked the rest away for later perusal, along with a scroll case that reminded him of Lanharath.

[/sblock]

Creeping into position had proven more useful than Pok had originally expected, They still don't know I'm here...

The stealthy and short wizard carefully slinks around the edge of his hiding place in the brush, pointing his wand toward the leader of the enemy force. Hands flick short motions, as Pok begins weaving a spell, constructing corridors and traps to hinder his foe. A fey-maze veiled illusion, fantastic trees blocking the view for the cultist patrol leader.

Just as quickly as he appeared, the gnome rolled back into the cover of his hiding place, the brush didn't help with it's shifting and rustling at his presence. He still attempted to hide behind the rocky cover.
