Valahad removes his helm, doing his best not to hide his kalashtar face. "Pardon my intrusion," the kalashtar speaks into Perren's mind, "but I have taken an oath of silence. We can speak this way if you wish. If not my friends would be happy to speak aloud."

The man looks around befuddled for a moment, then looks at Valahad. "Alright, I ain't ever met one of your kind before. Is there more of ya lying about? Ya said we. Yeah, I'm fine with it, just don't go doing anything 'unnatural' to me ok?" Perren replies.

"Thank you sir, your offer is welcomed." tells River. "Sheeva, you seems exhausted. I'll prepare you something so you'll have a good rest tonight. You should be spared of a watch turn tonight."

"Thank you for the kind offer Perren. That is most generous. My name is Sheeva and these are my friends. What is with all of these burnt out houses and dead bodies around here? I would have thought that the war passed this area by a long time ago." Sheeva smiles, putting on the charm.

"Well, this be my lucky day, a purdy lady elf comes along. Ain't sumthing ya see everyday, why wait it is, just today another of you dark elves was snooping around here. Aye, the war, they called it the Last War, bah! Ain't never going to be a Last War. Not the first time I’ve heard such questions from outsiders, and I’ll tell you straight what I told them—Erstlin don’t need no would-be heroes making trouble. Best you take your questions and head back to your precious cities at first light. First some grinning human and his flame friends, then a drow, now this..."the man replies, leading the way inside. Once there he pulls you close "Alright, sumthing I ain't told no other souls, I talked to a trapper just come down from the far side of the Graywalls. Said he saw nothing but burned villages there. Said, too, that he met a lone knight and a tiefling on foot seven months back, heading outta the hills as he was heading in. They were moving deeper into Droaam" he whispers.

When they reach the farmer's house, Lanharath helps River tend to Sheeva, and maybe learn a thing or two from the pacifist healer in the ways of natural poultices and concoctions.

Just before heading in, Pok's throbbing-pain intensifies, he pours water on the swelling.

It doesn't do much...

Sheeva walks over to Lan:

"Did you hear that?" Sheeva whispers. "You might be able to pick up that Drow's trail if he was around today."

Turning back to the man:

"Interesting news." Sheeva smiles slightly at the man. "Seeing as I don't have a map on me, could you give us directions to these hills the trapper mentioned? And, please tell me more of this other elf. I do not often get to meet ones of my blood around here. Where did you see him?" Sheeva asks politely.

Valahad nods at Lanharath, "He can also speak this way. Have no fear though, our abilities only allow speech." Valahad unbuckles his breastplate, cooling himself off. Speaking again to Perren, "We have heard of cultists in the area. Have you seen them lately?"

"Sure, these hills are on the far sida the Graywalls. There's a coupla ways to git there. Y'all ken try and go through the mountains, it ain't easy, but at this tima year the paths shudn't be blocked yet. The other way is longer, takes ya south around the mountains, but y'all be close to that monster's keep. The call it Shaarat Kol or sumthing, they don't take too well to Brelanders coming into thair place. They'd be tough to try and convince otherwise. As fer yer cousin, he carried a big sword, bigger even than his" Perren replies, gesturing to Valahad's blade. "He didn't say too much to me and disappeared afore I could talk ta him and warn him, but he did ask soma the same questions as you fellas." he finishes.

"Err...I ain't too much fer knowing nothin' about no cults, no siree we gotta a fine little place here and don't be gettin' ourselves involved in no business of ya city folk." Perren says.

Alright, so you're 2/3's of the way through to success, but also 2/3's of the way to failure. Feel free to keep RP'ing but no more successes (or failures) can come from this town. However, in order to get Perren to open up it'll take some decent words.

"Good sir, we are here to try to stop that cult activity. That will not be an easy task, so we will need all help as possible, even if it comes only under the form of valuable information. The cult have attack some refugee in Moonwatch and we stop them before they did too much harm. Those kind of action go against the Host values. I know what it is to be scared, but courage come from the inside. And only with it, you can put aside that emotion. Even if you see the situation as an immovable mountain, if you take one rock and move it out of your way, and if everyone would do the same, you would see, the mountain would become an hill. So please sir, if you have any more information about that cult, please tell us so we can stop them for good." tells River.

[SBLOCK=OOC]Diplomacy +10 f you need a roll.[/SBLOCK]

Valahad grasps his shoulder and speaks into his mind, peering deep within his eyes. "There is much in the world to make us afraid. There is much more in our faith to make us unafraid. Remember those to which you say grace and remember us. The cultists will not threaten you while we travel in the name of il-Yannah."

At River's words the man's shoulders slump helplessly, "Alright, so yer palydin did come through here a few months back. We'd just been paid a visit by the cultists, they took my wife, kept her hostage unless we helped'em set a trap for that group. Oh gods" he begins weeping, head in his hands as the memories come flooding back. "Sorry... we did our part, I ran up as they rode near here, yelling fer help, they rushed over and then those damn Khybers attacked, there was nearly three dozen of 'em, orcs, halforks, and humans. The palydin and his friends fought hard, those women, sisters I think, kept the palydin and the tiefling on their feet, but one of them was quickly brought down. A group of bugbears was hiding and snuck out grabbin' the two women and stabbing them in the back. The palydin howled after that, I mean it was scary even to me. It made a coupla them run, but he chased'em all down cutting each of them down. Just him and the tiefling were left. They buried their dead and didn't figure out our part. I snuck away and went ta try and find Shandra. Those basterds left her body where they said I coulda picked her up, they killed her. I'm sorry, so sorry, I let her down, I let everybody down.... gods forgive me..." he finishes, finally allowing the grief to take hold and he grabs a bottle from the pantry, uncorks it and begins draining its contents.

From outside comes the sound of hoofbeats through the dark night. Auldwyl sprints to a window, carefully peering through the shutters. “Fools!” he hisses as he turns back. "You brought them back!" as he throws the bottle against the wall, the dark liquid slowly running down the wall.

He begins running to secure the front door.

Everyone has 1 action before combat starts. The shutters are the blueish things on the outside of the house, the white are doors. There are curtains to the north. Table to your backs, and a fireplace (with fire in it) with some chairs in the area (K 10-ish)

Rivers take a look at the outside through the shutter next to him, telling the group what he sees. "We will handle the situation or we will get all out of here alive and in one piece." tells River to Auldwyl.
