[sblock=ooc] R1, I'm so on-board with your rules I'm like a flattened nail. Thanks for the drama intervention! [/sblock]

Seeing Pok and his amazing acrobatic maneuver lets Lan know that the time is right. Standing up quickly, Lanharath gives a quick prayer to Il-Yannah for everything to be right. His blade glows a golden white and this drives the creation of Khyber away from him. As the creature moves past Feall, Lanharath gives the command.

"Everyone, attack NOW!"

Feall winks out of existance, reappearing next to the beast after a tentacle had fallen to the ground from some unknown method of attack. Valahad swings his divinely inspired blade at the creature and takes off another tentacle, the stump sizzling after contact with the paladin's radiance. Pok, thinking on his feet, comes up with something that even his sister couldn't beat! Mingling the words of the spell he was already casting with that of a much shorter spell, but splitting his consciousness in tremendous intellectual effort, he maintains his original spell while casting a second! Pok releases a small bolt of force into the creature as it moves backwards, causing it to rear upwards in pain. Lanharath appreciates the opening and quickly calls on Ill-Yannah.

"Hear our words, Great Light. Let our actions be the undoing of this vile creature that you have shown to be your enemy."

Lanharath stabs forward into the bulk of the creature and nothing seems to happen. Suddenly, cracks begin to form in the body of the creature and divine light seeps out. The creature convulses and pulses a few times before exploding in a shower of black ooze and leaving behind a glowing sphere of radiance where it once was that fades after a few moments passes.

Lanharath looks over his shoulder at the Tiefling and points his blade at him.

"The darkness only rules until dawn! Flee before the wrath of the Great Light!"

[sblock=It's Nova Time!]
-Move: Stand up

-Minor: Uses Fury's Advance and hits AC 25 for 19 damage (this includes the 3/ally) and push the Tentacles over to G/H-10/11. Lanharath then shifts 3 squares to G-9 (as part of the same power).

-Standard: Uses Strength of Many and hits AC 28 for 23 damage! [/sblock]

Again, Feall winks from sight, this time reappearing next to the bow wielder attacking River and burying his black falchion deep in the girl's torso, she falls to the ground in pain. The girl's shadow writhes up his blade, flowing over him and hiding his form just before he disappears, popping back up once more in position to distract Val's enemy.

River walk in the middle of the battlefield and pray Arawai. "Heals my firends and weaken the arms of Khyber." An aura of light starts to glow and burst, englobing everyone except Pok.

After the light vanish, Lan open his eyes. "Arawai, gives his a second breath." Lan feels his wounds close and his mind relax and feels as fresh as he awoke in the morning.

Seeing the enemies not willing to retreat, Valahad keeps fighting the archer turned swordman. "Il-Yannah and I see the insanity that plagues you. If you don't surrender your darkness will be negated." The kalashtar was a much better swordsman than his opponent. Knocking the other's blade aside he buries his own weapon in her gut. The tentacles wave in the air threatening him.

[sblock=Actions]
Minor: Make bowman1 my oath target.
Minor: Use Ardent Strike
Standard: Valourous Smite vs Bowman 1: valourus smite vs bow1 (1d20+12=32, 1d20+12=31, 2d8+16=25) CRIT! crit die (1d6=5) Total: 37 damage. The tentalces are subject to my divine sanction until the end of next turn.[/sblock]

Waking, yet again, Lanharath quickly evaluates his situation. Pinned between the tiefling and the tentacles, he knew what he needed to do.

"POK! I need your help! Jump down the ledge and ready an attack! FEALL, VAL, I'm sending the tentacles your way! Get ready!"

The kalashtar waits for a positive response from his team-mates before he moves to engage.

Pok takes into account the danger listening to Lanharath's advice may bring, and weighs his trust of Lanharath's judgment as he had just moments before with Valahad. Everyone stop saying my name!

The diminutive gnome made his decision instantaneously, with the finesse of a dancer Pok jump-kicked the tree, lifting himself ever higher before escaping it's branches. Small arms spread mid-air, as the floating gnome's robes glittered against the moonlight. Then in the space he had once occupied there was only black, as his barrel roll topped out, and his grayscale elven cloak blended with the night.

Pok thought as he watched the lip of the pit disappear from view, and the rubble begin approaching his head, *I'll ask Roswyn to help me with the new spell, she's always been good at the verbal component.* Tucking his arms and legs in, increasing his speed, and churning his body end over end, the gnomes face became visible again. Lunar tears exploded into glistening glare from shimmering robes as Pok threw his arms and legs wide again, slowing instantly before landing with a feint woosh.

His wand was forward and he was already casting, timing himself to cast after Lanharath's plan commenced.

Standard readied action, trigger; Lan resolves his turn
Phantom Bolt on nearest enemy 26 vs will for 16 psychic damage, and slide 1 pending the situation. (Max damage naturally rolled :D)

[sblock=CaBaNa] After re-reading my post, I now realize that what I typed on behalf of your character may have been quite a bit presumptuous. I apologize if what I had your character do doesn't fit your idea of Pok, I was simply trying to give Pok a one-up on his sister ;) I should have PM'd you first, so I'll do that from now on. If you feel that Pok's actions in my post do not accurately reflect how he would act, I'll be happy to change my post (though you'll have to get Ren to also change his...). Sorry for jumping the gun, and PM me if you'd like a change. [/sblock]

"Are you ok Lan? It looked like you took quite a beating there." Sheeva inquires.

"Oh, you're still here?" Sheeva says to the Tiefling. "Attacking my friends was a mistake. You get once chance to surrender."

With a casual wave of her hand:

CRACK

A bolt of Lightning slams into the Tiefling, standing his hair straight up and making him look a bit comical.

"If you do not surrender immediately, the next one kills you. Your choice."

Sheeva flies out of the pit.

[sblock=Actions]
Standard Action = Lightning Strike on Tiefling
Move Action = Fly to Q11

25 to hit (27 if CA is still applicable), 18 damage vs Reflex

The damage will only knock the Tiefling unconscious if it is enough to take him down.

Sheeva's bolt strikes the tiefling, but after the bolt takes effect the humanoid grabs his cloak by the hem and twirls in place, disappearing from view with a puff of green smoke and a loud boom. After he's gone, almost immediately, the other bodies begin to fade away, their features contorting and changing. Their pale features and pupil less eyes staring at the evening sky.

[sblock=Nature DC15]
These are known as doppelgangers, shapeshifters more powerful than changelings.

[sblock=Arcana DC 22 & a standard action to determine magical effect]
This was created by a Cape of the Montebank, a short range teleportation effect[/sblock]

[sblock=Perception DC37]
Tiefling t-ported to H -1 (just to the left of the map), he's skulking away at full speed

*he's got an ability to negate the penalty to stealth.

"He used a cape of Mountebank to teleport away, he is near." tells River, as he sees the doppelganger fleeing. "They are doppelganger. They are the ancestor of the changeling, more power in there ability to mimic... but if they look like the one we seek, maybe they have not turned to Khyber. We still have a chance to save the flamists. We need to bind them up and question them."

[SBLOCK=OOC]Nature, Arcane, Perception (1d20+6=25, 1d20+3=22, 1d20+6=8)

Do River know about the mind reading capacity of the Doppelganger with that roll? Do they still have that in 4e?[/SBLOCK]

"Yes, these creatures took the exact shape of the ones we seek, or at least a good enough one to fool someone who only has a description of them like us. They have either met those we seek, or were told about them in order to fool us. If we can track where they came from, we might either find the flamists or possibly find whomever sent them to attack us."

[sblock=River]
Doppelgagners lost the read mind ability in 4e. River recalls that they can assume shapes of other creatures at will. Can cloud the minds of their targets to turn invisible to their eyes, are more deadly when they catch foes with their guards down (i.e. Combat Advantage)

Seeing the tiefling disappear, Lanharath is immediately on the alert for trickery. Touching his chest where his dragonmark lay, he feels the warm sensation of magic as the mark activates and his eyes sharpen. Off in the distance, he spots the slightest bit of movement and can see the outline of the moving tiefling. Lan points his sword toward the cowardly khyberist and shouts.

"THERE HE IS!! STOP HIM!"

Lanharath begins to make chase, running as fast as he can over the rough terrain towards his chosen foe.

[sblock=Actions]
- Minor Action: Active Perception check: Lan rolls a 37 (NAT 20)!!!
- Move: move as quickly as he can (run action) to chase down the tiefling. Ends up at H-2
- Minor: Mark the Tielfing as his Oath of Enmity

[SBLOCK=OOC]The arcane chack is a standard action. The perception is a minor, that would mean you could do a standard action instead of using your oath of enmity, like you power that allow to pull the enemy.[/SBLOCK]
