Unfortunately they were useless for wargaming, their core market. Your maps look as great as ever!
I'm confused Charles - why do you say wargaming was their core market? Admittedly I know little about their history - but I would have thought RPGs/miniatures would be - Terraclips is dungeon terrain.

Couple reasons:

- the company making it was solely a wargaming one at the time (Wyrd)
- only wargamers tend to go in for large scale city terrain, especially in a range of formats and styles matching the aesthetic of the wargame Wyrd makes
- it was marketed fairly aggressively at the time at wargamers, as I recall.

Of course, I then googled it, and found this comment from a forum thread (very high up when you google Terraclips) from one of the guys at Wyrd regarding why they don't bring it back:

We don't because of various reasons, not the least of which is costs and return vs. other projects that could be developed. It is a very costly product to produce in quantities that make a difference, not to mention the weight of shipping and space of storage it takes.

Interesting. Much of their stuff was dungeon walls/floors/props and in addition to their city stuff gave incredible access to the miniatures world at an affordable cost. For the cost of the three core books of D and D you could buy about 3 sets of terraclips, enough to make a village and dungeon that you could build however you like to suit your layout. Compared to the $20-$50 charged by miniature terrain companies for a single house, it was a steal. Given the millions of miniature figures gobbled up by D and D enthusiasts, it seems it would have been a natural fit.

Maybe they just didn't market their product well? Or maybe it was the whole sandbox vs linear path thing - if you play in a sandbox you don't want to put the game on hold for half an hour while the DM puts together a village or dungeon.
