Against the Storm, ReRecruited Thread

Looking at her near nude self, Ines rubs the back of her head. Man, I'm glad hindsight is so good, otherwise I'd be completely blind!" She looks around in the cell, then sighs. I love the smell of cell in the middle of the summer!. With that she smiles and relaxes herself, rubbing the place where her assailents had hit her. Could have been worse, after all, I have the opertunity to think still. I think, there for I am. I'm locked in a cell, that's what I am!

She moves to the bars and looks at them. She looks down to where her vest was and sighs. "I'll miss that." she says aloud, then quiets herself to listen for anyone out of her range of sight. (listen check), then checks to see if the bar door was locked, and finding it so, sighs again. Well, hey! It was worth a shot! She then looks at the bars on the forth wall to see if her head will fit through them. If it will, then she'll try to fit the rest of her self through. If nor, then she'll search the cell (which may take all of 10 minutes).

Rahja will close and also lock the trap door to the treasury from inside, if that is possible, (she casts Light, so she can see something). After closing the door, a Detect Magic will tell Rahja, which pieces are really worth to be considered. She then packs all the magical stuff and the most valuable mundane pieces (jewelry, gems, platinum, etc). If she finds sacks there, she will use those (also filling one with any armor and weapons, as well as gold to be carried by Danilo), otherwise, she can change her robe, so she has enough pockets to stash the loot into. The gold bars will be too heavy, so they have to be left there, unfortunately. The drugs and poisons will all be emptied into a remote corner of the room, ruining them in the process.

When she is finished, she'll concentrate on her link to Danilo, to see if anything happened meanwhile, and if not, she will move back into her cell with a Dimension Door.

On to the hard part...

OOC: I'll just assume for now, that everything goes according to plan and continue right away... If not, the following will be done later, I guess... ;)

With another Invisibility and Blink Rahja starts to investigate the other cells. She will move through the walls, so she ends up inside the cells, take a quick look around, and if she is alone with the prisoner, whisper a few words to him or her...

Shhh... be silent! I'm from Waterdeep and here to rescue you, it'll take a few minutes to check everything. I'll be back soon! Don't make noise!

[If there is a guard present, she'll head back through the wall immediately, before she can be noticed and take a way around that cell to the next (probably going outside of the building and back inside, as she can only pass through less than 5' of barriers without problems).]

She will do this with all remaining cells and then stop her investigation in the cell with the most capable prisoner, from her own judgement.

Everything goes according to plan. There are two guards near the cells. They are the "drivers" who beat her up. She can't go into the walls outside the room, because you seem to be underground. A dark-skinned, half-naked halfling is the only prisoner who is awake.

OOC: So far I assumed the cells to be seperate rooms with some part (the actual cell) being seperated from the rest of the room and the entrance by iron bars. Is that correct? Or was only Rahja's own cell like this? If correct, are the guards inside one of those rooms (if so, which?), or are they somewhere outside in a corridor, that leads to the cells? Or in other words... how many of the prisoners are under direct observation by the guards?

It is a row of cells much like Rahja's, with a hall that the guards are in. They can see all the cells, but the people in the cells cannot see people in th eother cells. The side walls go a couple feet beyond the bars so that there cannot be a connection between the calls.

Ines, after looking around her room, sighs. Wll, you really got what you diserved this time, didn' t you!. she thinks as she plants herself in the corner with the most shadow.

OOC: Err... Shouldn't the guards then be in view from Rahja's cell as well (you said there is noone to be seen, except Danilo - or is Rahja's cell not directly connected to the same hall?) and even moreso shouldn't they then be in the same room with Danilo!? All the above with Danilo (like him giving her the key) could obviously only happen, if there is noone else present, who could see Rahja's cell... ;) I must still be mixing something up there, I guess! :D Anyways...

Rahja thinks of a decent direction in which to flee from here. Thinking about this, she tries to determine - if that is in any way possible - from what she has seen here, from which direction the carriage had come to the house. This is the direction, she will flee to. If there is no way to derive this direction from the information she has, she will ask Danilo, he should know at least.

Once she has decided upon a course of action, she ends her quick investigations of the cell area - still invisible - inside the room with the halfling, as she's the only one awake here.

[BTW, did the treasury contain some obviously halfling sized stuff? ;)]

Seconds later, she has cast a silenced Message to communicate with her unnoticed.

Listen to me, don't make any noise or movement that could alarm the guards! You can speak to me by just forming the words silently with your mouth. I'll get you out of here, but there are four more prisoners, I want to free! They are all unconscious. I can get three of you out at once, roughly 800 feet away from here, but I'm not exactly sure where we will end up, so you should come with the first, to stand guard, while I fetch the rest. That won't take long, half a minute at most. Ok?

If the halfling accepts, Rahja will cast silenced Dimension Door three times in rapid succession, taking the halfling with her and landing next to another prisoner, taking that one with them and landing next to yet another prisoner and finally moving full distance into the direction she has decided upon earlier.

She will then head back with another (now non-silenced) Dimension Door and land in one of the cells with the remaining two prisoners, then get the last one like above and finally fetch Danilo and move back to the place she had left the others at a few moments ago, using another three Dimension Door spells.

'Sure, sounds fine' she mouths to the invisiable... thing.

SHould I trust it? The last time I trusted anyone, I got knocked on my head? Is this an elaberate way for them to test my willingness to sit here and wait, or is this trully an attempt at rescue? Ines thinks to herself as she looks around. It seems awefully convienent for a rescuer to come for me 2 minutes after I wake up in need of one! she completes her thoughts, not really sure what to make out of this new developement.

On the other hand, if this IS a rescue, then I don't want to miss out on the opertunity!

Ok, here is the way the room looks: think of a big rectangle, 40 tall by 60 wide. Now imagine four walls, 20 feet long, spaced evenly along the bottom. Add jail bars all the way accross, bisecting the 20 foot walls. The guards are on the other side of the room. but no one cell has a view of the others, or a guards not immediately in front of the cell.

Ines' stuff is among the stuff in the treasury.

OOC: Ok... that makes five prisons then, was Rahja not in one of those (because there are five prisoners besides her ;)), but rather somewhere else? That would explain my recent confusion! :) Anyways, as long as Danilo and Rahja were obviously alone and unobserved, everything is fine, regardless of where her cell is located... She'll just do what I described above! I repeat it below with one small addition...

Before heading back, she'll cast another Blink and Shield, just in case the guards have noticed the prisoners vanishing. She is still invisible and the other Dimension Door spells have all been cast silent.
