He asked me again tonight if I was going to play, and said No for the good reasons people said in this thread.

And something ulterior as well ...

While it would be fun, perhaps, to play in 2nd Ed and multiclass as a Twinky Elf - if I joined, then it would be the entire gaming group playing in my 3rd Ed game and also his 2nd Ed game. This could give them choices to game on either edition on game day (Which musn't happen, for I'm greedy with my players).

Agree. I guess it all boils down to what you're looking for in a game.... either system works equally as well for promoting my main goal: having fun.
