Are you suggesting they will have both Rory McCann and a deepfake version of Ray Stevenson? As in like Rory will be the body, but they'll make his face look like Ray's?
I'd like to say that weirder stuff has been done in the past by Disney, but I can't remember one. Still, not something I cannot imagine them doing.

It's expensive so kinda doubt it.
Plus, I can't imagine they'd hire someone like Rory McCann as a body double. If they were intending to mask the replacement's face with a deepfake version of Ray Stevenson, I'm sure they'd hire someone less recognizable and less expensive to serve as the body.

What I find a bit funny about this is that Rory previously played a character whose on-screen brother was recast not once but twice!

I I fine it would be quicker as well. That recast call was months ago.

I was a bit concerned about some of the directing choices initially. The actors are great but it felt like Ahsoka was directed to be emotionless and distant (understandable* but a distinct departure from her previous characterisation) and Sabine was directed to be passive and surly (again, understandable* but quite different from before). Once there was a bit more explanation I was happier, and the later episodes - Ashoka’s dream sequence with Anakin, Ezra’s return, and Skoll in general - were great. I’m looking forward to more and I think McCann is a great choice to replace Stevenson (RIP).

*The main reason being the Imperial genocide on Mandalore including the deaths of Sabine’s family and Ahsoka not letting her intervene and die. But this wasn’t really explained until later.

I still wish this had been an animated follow up to Rebels. There's too many limitations in live action that they didn't have with the cartoons. Plus the short number of episodes does the story telling a huge disservice. I liked the show, but it's not as good as Rebels, Bad Batch and later Clone Wars was. The animation in Bad Batch was amazing, and an animated lightsaber battle between Ahsoka and Baylan could have rivalled her last battle against Maul.

I definitely don’t disagree - I loved all those (need to watch some more Bad Batch) and Ahsoka has been one of my favourite characters - but I suspect Disney thinks live action is more lucrative in some way. It’s certainly more expensive.

One thing that’s a bit sad about the transition to live action is that you get different actors, who are great but feel like quite different people. I’d be happy to see Tiya Sircar and Ashley Eckstein reprise their roles. Of course, this doesn’t affect some people (hey, Clancy Brown and Katee Sackhoff) but it can be weird even if it’s the same actor (Lars Mikkelsen is great but he looks a little too much like Elon Musk these days).
