I'll make sure to have it up as soon as I can. But I don't want to say a date and then turn around and have to change it.

I'm going to hunt down George this week. So I can hopefully got a yes or no.

Okay. Guedo got ahold of George and secured a date. Course, it's not the first weekend in March but the last one.

So, Gameday is Saturday, March 27th.

Guedo, when you get a chance, you want to change the name of this thread to "Albany, NY Gameday March 27th" ?

Done and Done.

Thats right Boys and Girls. March 27th At Zombie Planet. Now all we need is to get some DMs to comit and Sign ups will start half way into Feb.

Hoy!

I made this account pretty much to reply to this thread.

I live across the river in North Greenbush...

Anway, I'm interested. Mostly in just regular ol' DnD. None of the fancy ones.

I know a few other regulars that I may be able to talk into going as well, but I can't be 100% on that.

I'm not really sure where Zombie Planet is. Could you give some frame of refence? Near any landmarks, known streets? Is it like a store or something?
Should I do a Yahoo! map search on it?

Thanks, I look foward to it.

Welcome. Glad to see you got yourself an account. I lurked for quite a while before I started posting.

Zombie Planet is a game store in Albany. Here's their website.

If you know where Colonie Center is, you'll want to head toward downtown Albany on Central. It's on the right hand side, across the street from KFC, and next to the old Ken Feiden's Home Furnishings store.

Great. Let me say welcome, also. I live in wynantskill just next door. So far we only have one true D&D game but that could change in the future. If you haven't already, try a D20 game. You will find they D&D with slight changes in a different setting.

Wow, that is right next door...

I'm not sure of the curent status, but I would also be willing to DM a D&D game if need be. I do homebrews and custom campaigns mostly because I am to cheap to go out and buy other campaign books for the printed worlds. :O But if homebrews aren't a problem an another DM is needed, I would be more than happy to.

I'll hold judgement on the other d20 systems till I see them. Another reason I'd prefer a regular D&D game is cause I know the rules. If my memory serves me correctly, doesn't d20 Modern use alternate rules to things? Thats really my only objection (its nothing personal or anything). Just that it would be easiest and most ready to play D&D.

Oh, just on Central? Thats no problem. I'm not sure exactly where the KFC or anything is off-hand. How close is that to the West Gate area of Central? Or is it more in the middle? Like around the resturant section (Smokey Bones, Garcias)?

Zombie Planet is about halfway between Westgate and Colonie Center.

As for knowing the rules of the other systems, a good aim for a gameday seems to be for the players not having to have any foreknowledge of the rules for the game (though it does help always help).

At least for me, I'm trying to include as few rules as necessary for my Star Wars game and am trying to make things as clear and concise as possible on the character sheets. I'm also trying to keep character sheets to 2 pages, though the force users seem to be forcing me to have 3 sheets for them.

Sign ups will be simply either people posting to the list or emailing with who wants to be where. The hard part will be corralling DMs into slots. Take a look at Pkitty's Boston Game Day thread basically I'm stealing most of my organizational techniques from Pkitty.

I will most likely be emailing dms to work out schedules. I'm hoping we can accommodate DMs if they need to come in late or leave early.

I'm sure we can work things out so you can play in AO Kitty's game. I don't know what game will be in the afternoon or morning yet and I don't know what games will be running against each other. I'll have a final list closer to sign ups.
