Anyone seen and got an opinion on the Alexander the Great movie?

Agreed. Watch a good documentary about Alexander because that's more entertaining than the hours of bisexual angst Stone forces down your throat. I mean Alexander is famous for his epic campaign, his brutal tactics and his military genius. The fact that he's was probably bisexual (which was common and accepted in those days) is not a good premise for making a movie about Alexander the Great.

Not a good movie. See something else. Wait till it is in the cheap section of the vidro store, or on TV.

Oohhh... tough one....
I'd have to say yes. Because however bad the story of that movie was it at least was a passable popcorn action flick... Alexander doesn't even qualify for that.

And unlike the Arthurian Cycle, where anything you do is hypothetical at best, the life story of Alexander is rather well documented (in fact, I was just reading a history book on him...).

In the Footsteps of Alexander the Great is very good, and available on DVD now.

Is it worse than Bruckheimer's King Arthur film from last year?

I've not seen either, but I've been told that Alexander was much worse. Choppy editing, weird choices for sections of his life to highlight, nothing mentioned about Tyre or the circumstances of his fathers death, etc.
