i just watched it for the second time...

I couldn't see any time where Syd got cut badly on her abdomen, so I'm not sure what the scar entails.

Anyone else besides me think that the whole '2 years' thing is some sort of elaborate deception?

Me either. It's too small to be a C-section scar if I'm not mistaken...

I don't think JJ would pull that. He's been waiting all year to reveal this, I think he's ready to roll with it.

No one knows. That's the big cliffhanger. We find out about it in the closing seconds and that's where they leave us hanging. We find out that Sloan has collected 47 Rambaldi devices and is assembling them. He makes an offer to Jack mid-ep to rejoin him, Jack refuses. Sloan mentions that Syd will not be in the way this time so he doesn't have to worry about that. That is all we have to go on as to the nature of her missing 2 years. That last thing we see before she wakes up on the streets of Japan/China is her big fight with Evil Francie. She blacks out and boom, we slide right into the ending.

Edit: Okay, let me clarify that. Evil Francie stabs Will with a knife. Syd finds out after she (Evil Francie) makes a gaff and does something (shares some of Syd's coffee ice cream) that Francie would never do. They fight and during it, Syd finds what she thinks is a dead Will. Fight with Evil Francie happens and Syd kills Evil Fran after they beat the snot out of each other. Right after Syd wins, she passes out rather oddly (it is possible the ice cream was drugged). The next scene is Syd waking up on the streets in an asian country. She calls in to the CIA and talks to Kendal as to where she can go; he directs her to a safehouse. When there, Vaughn shows up to give Syd the big news. We know something is up right away (I have the last snippet of their short conversation in an above post). Vaughn drops the 2 year news and it ends there.

I thought she passed out due to the aforementioned beating the snot out of each other.

Certainly more probable than the poison, for sure. I just threw the poison bit in there to make note of it as we saw Francie with the same ice cream moments earlier in a scene with Will in which it would have been a perfect chance to take him out that way.

But yeah, I'm going on the assumption that she passed out because of the beat-down.
