'Aliens made me do it'

Was it ever used as a defense or just blamed? I don't think I've heard people using to defend their actions, it was always the parents blaming it for their kids choices rather than themselves.

There's always someone who has to ruin it for the rest of us....

My fiancee once wrote a short story about a man who was convinced that the roadside barrels along the bypass here in Knoxville were the cocoons of alien invaders, and he took a shotgun and got them before they hatched. It was written from his point of view as he explained it to the police. I thought it was funny, but it hasn't sold to any publisher yet.

No worries, she's got plenty more where that came from.

Sounds like a spin-off of that movie starring Rowdy Roddy Piper, They Live. :D

My memory tells me that several times in the early '80s it was used as a defendant's claim as the reason they committed a robbery or some such, but it never worked. Sorry, but I have no proof or links to said stories.
